I have a limpkin in the swamp behind my house that drives me crazy because of its extremely loud and constant cry. I'm going to buy a BB gun just to kill it.
This was late spring of 2006 at Myakka River State Park and there were no apple snails at all, their normal diet. All they were getting was fresh water mussels, lots of mussel shells on the bank and practically no apple snail shells.

Very interesting. Thanks for posting. What did he catch? It didn't look like a snail, was it a mollusk of some kind?
