  • Ok, the moment that you start camping or sleeping on a site, you are NO LONGER engaging in political demonstration, you are exercising NO constitutional rights. Putting up canopies, sleeping in a public place and pitching tents implies that you are taking up residency in that particular area. THAT IS NOT PROTECTED UNDER THE CONSTIUTION. Arrive at a location, demonstrate and then go home to sleep. You would have had NO problems with police if you hadnt been trying to LIVE at that site.

  • God Bless the Police!....I hope none of them caught bedbugs!!!!

  • For all you haters out there, (looking at you SFPD), these Occupy movements, if nothing else, demonstrate to the rest of the world (who just ADORE your country ::eyeroll::) that its citizens aren't the imbeciles your "Neo-Cons" (Interesting term, by the way...ought to be suffixes with the word: "Artists") made you look like. Use your heads, you ignorant storm-trooper imbeciles.

  • i can repeat stuff to... can i join?

  • SAY THE WORD AND I,LL COME BACK TO FRISCO AND GIVE ALL THE SUPPORT I CAN. RIGHT NOW I,M TEMPORARILY IN SACRAMENTO. I,LL SOON BE GOING TO L A FOR THE CALIFORNIA v/s HAWAII TRIAL.

  • I would have been the guy at 07:04

  • The people harassing the DPW employee are fucking scumbags. He is just a city worker that is there to keep the area clean and safe. Yet these fucking idiots harass him, yell at him like he is a wall street banker telling him he will lose and other idiotic shit. Then they proceed to fucking CHASE him as he leaves the area to avoid further harassment. When the woman runs into the cop while chasing the guy, she acts all shocked when the officer pushes her away to protect himself. Jesus christ guys.

  • As a San Franciscan, and someone who passes through this area every day - the people that are actually sleeping there 24/7 number somewhere around a few dozen. At night all of the people drive, walk, or bus in. That being said, the request for canopies to be removed is not unreasonable. If they aren't properly secured they can flip over in the wind and spread debris all over the Embarcadero (which is a high-traffic street just a few feet away). cont..

  • Make more signs, bring more people - their jails will never hold, will never contain, will never stop, the IDEA that has manifested that people are free, and will remain free. Those whom are in our government do not represent us. They are controlled by corporation money. Profit is their sole motive. Humans are secondary to their profit motive. Know this and you will understand why this movement will never be defeated.

  • God fuck hippies

  • The DPW CREWS have been hassling homeless citizens with their trucks in the middle of the night.

    NOBODY CARED

This one DPW crew hassled homeless for a year without cleaning and had the cops blessing. finally THE NEWSPAPER HELPED

  • what is the big guy saying?? "there is CATS???...Anonymous, Twitter"

  • @SetMusicFree that's me! i'm one of the much maligned "part time occupiers" and i'm also from the internet.

  • @scottlypuff hey there, thx for getting back, am also on twitter "AnonKnowledge", whats ur profilname on twitter?

  • Great video Josh! Epic. Thanks!

  • occupy the police station and drive them crazy with all night chants

  • --- TUES OCT 18, 2011 --- I live in SF and this disgusts me the way our Police behave. However I would like to point out to anyone new to this kind of display, this is the EXACT BEHAVIOR from them consistently ever since the PRE-IRAQ WAR Protests starting around October 2002 -- nine years ago. Exactly the same totalitarian aggression, exactly the same military formations to escalate their actions, exactly their same indifference for -- UTTER CONTEMPT towards -- citizens exercising free speech.

  • --- PART (2) --- I want to add: For all those who STILL think San Francisco is a liberal city, think again. San Francisco does NOT have liberal leadership. We have FAUX liberals and it's a crying shame they get re-elected over and over, and especially NANCY PELOSI, and the wretched DIANE FIENSTEIN, and even former liberal BARBARA BOXER. They have seen this brutality go down over and over in THEIR STREETS -- they LIVE here. And they EACH turn a blind eye. I have contempt for all of them.

  • threating the driver is the white truck was not cool.

  • if they were celebrities, the cops would be protecting them...thats how this country works.

  • @lee0122333 or if they were bankers or GOP candidates...

  • @yakottayoungblood i shouldnt say just in america, its how the whole world operates. really sad. i think something that could help the movement is who do people really listen to? people who are famous. i think its time for famous people to step up to the plate. unfortunately, famous people arent really affected by whats going on because they're rich.

  • The more and more I watch footage of these protests, the more disappointed I get with both the state/city governments and the police departments. These people ARE NOT VIOLENT. They DO NOT DESERVE to be treated this way. Sad how we live in a country where we have this political right, yet corruption prevents us from having full access to it.

  • Realize that more and more of this will continue if we don't stand together. Wake up before it's too late! Think about the future or your children's children! What kind of life will they live if they're oppressed!

  • When a system is distrubed, it produces disruptive patterns and accelerates its own decline until a new harmony state is reached..Let's continue our non-violent disturbance...this system can only produce its own collapse. The whole world is watching.

  • @daviddqc NOW I SEE WHY OAKLAND KICKED OFF A RIOT. GOOD FOR OAKLAND.

  • Stupid dumb police you are the peoples servants we are not your servants.

  • "Serve and Protect" - serving the elite, protecting the elite. These "officers" (and I use that term VERY loosely) should all be ashamed of themselves. They're disgusting specimens.

  • Fuck the police!

  • that cop doesn't give a shit. he's probably just nodding but not really listening.

  • All this is just the beginning of this what´coming up. Obama told you: Yes we can....

  • "numerous occupiers were injured during a face-off with police"... exaggerate much? all i saw were entitled college pukes and random derelicts standing in the way of police... some TAXPAYING citizens of this city support you, SFPD!!!

  • @HandsomeB1derful did the tax payers of the country also support billions in aid to Israel, billions wasted in foreign wars, trillions in debt, sending jobs overseas, massive bonuses for the bankers even as they continue to extract the wealth from your country?

I would suggest not. I think it's time for a lot of the retards with nothing factual to back up their argument other than childish name calling to get their priorities straight.

  • plz pepper spray that bitch.

  • @HandsomeB1derful you sir, should calm down and realize that most people do not want to see innocent girls pebbersprayed.

  • you'll all be back at your parents' big house on the cul de sac in Walnut Creek soon as the bad weather starts.

  • @HandsomeB1derful and you'll be bending over again soon for the latest round of fat cat bonuses while your economy totally tanks. Well done you for having no educated opinion.

  • that's it, lemmings... repeat after me... wow, what a bunch of losers.

  • And what does this have to do with the crimes of Wall Street?

  • i watched this on livestream. thanks for this video, it shows some great stuff i didn't see before. keep fighting for your rights SF! we'll all continue to learn from each other and get better at this.

  • Pigs at work.

  • All this being said, I'm impressed with my city's police department; not in the decision they made that evening, but in their discretion to be as humane as possible while permitting the protest of their actions. No baton swinging. Picking people up and physically moving them out of the way for the vehicles to pass. I even heard one of them ask "are you going to be ok?"

  • this makes me so mad im protesting

  • your first amendment is dead, the police work for the elite this is disgusting. fuk the police

  • its look like libai behrain or egypt

  • the whole world is watching the freedom in USA n U the is the Nation who teaches the lessons of freedom of speach n humenrights shame on ur own govt shame shame shame

  • I love you guys so much. :'-(

  • The cops in this video remind me of the Nazi brownshirts of 1936

  • who the hell are they protecting? definitly not the people.

  • LEGALISE OCCUPY as a necessary social tool for a real democracy! REFUSE to accept the police brutality we continually are confronted with!

    OCCUPY COPENHAGEN, DENMARK

  • What pisses me off is that they do this under the cover of darkness. No honor at all. While the city sleeps, they make their moves.

  • OMG hey there Josh! I keep thinking OMG gotta get him outta jail! ;-)

    cheers

  • Talk about Gitmo-style tactics by SFPD. Fear, pain, noise are all amplified at night. And what better way to raise the general ire of the blissfully sleeping public. Great job, Josh Wolf. Does anyone have any word on the protester whose head hit the gutter?

  • @ChrizstianC yeah, heard the blow to his thick cranium knocked some sense in to him... his rich parents in San Ramon are pressing charges as we speak.

  • Permit for all occupy demonstrations in USA: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

  • these cops are way more restrained than their pepper spraying, club wielding police state NYPD

  • PSYOps. This is a gradual systematic and planned attack to stop and hinder the freedom of speech..

not allowing sleep, taking down tents and boxing people in. Who is giving the orders? This is not random..

  • I am disgusted with the Police and disgusted with Interim Mayor Ed Lee!

  • While I am very sympathetic to the OWS protests, if police give a lawful order, respect it. Sitting on the roadway gives them legal justification to arrest you. While I am not privy to why they wanted the canopy down, I can reasonably assume that it violates some code. Stand on the corner voice your opinion we do have that right. Disobeying the police is NOT the way to go.

  • @MargaretTD Fatcat bankers sell our future for billions in their pockets, colluding with the government the whole time; and we're bickering on Youtube about the nuances of whether erecting a tarp to stay out of the rain is allowed under city code.

  • @VelveteenSaint I think it was the protesters that did the bickering with the police and posted the video. And yes there is nothing in this video about the fat cat bankers, which I think was the point.

  • @MargaretTD There's plenty that the powerful can do to abuse the law. Laws are open enough to interpretation and are byzantine enough to allow them great leeway, so that they can endlessly revise their demands for your behavior. In such case, all their requests will be lawful. But none will be just.

And if you think Disobedience is not the way to go, then you should consider giving up the right to vote. Women's suffrage, among countless other rights, was won through civil disobedience.

  • I finally figured out where the DPW street cleaning vehicles are, they go to protests to remove canopys. How about cleaning up some of the debris from the alleys in Hayes Valley with those vehicles.

  • @principesinreyno Right? You'd think these cops might have some crimes to prevent. If they have nothing better to do than harass anarchists trying to beat drums and give away free food, maybe we should give their salaries to TEACHERS instead.

  • You're an idiot due to your own willful ignorance. Travel and observe, read and learn, get a clue, you don't even know what you are supporting and clearly don't even have a grasp of US civics, much less the notions of what communism or capitalism mean. You're a tool that believes talking points from the mouths of other idiots. Clearly you don't agree with their agenda, but they DO have the right to be there, under The 1st Amendment. If you love the US as much as you say you do, you should know.

  • What is it called when a group of thugs tell you what to do, steal your possessions, then beat you to get away?

  • sad and frightening. :(

  • the funny thing.. is that we already know is not the canopys if you notice eveyrtime this happen happens in 2-3 other occupations.. between last night and today 3 places got raided.. all for different "excuses" the truth is they do not want us doing this!! WAKE UP

  • Love 6:44. Cop walks into back of van and everyone laughs. Even he chuckles.

That's the most disturbing bit--they're human, but mob mentality on police side makes it easy to get caught up and do some inhuman things.

  • HARD TO BELIEVE!!!!!....Really sad that this happen in this country, specially in SF!!!!!!!!!...that's no freedom!!!!!!!...We are with you and the world is watching..we need to share this!!!!

  • @MarySol177 this happens all over the world! you thought the USA was immune to the IMF?

  • Basic psychological warfare, either learn to deal with it or go the fuck home kids.

  • Germany is with you! Solidary greetings!

  • Comment removed

  • @artmancheno Fuck you!

  • This leaves me speechless. I had no idea....just no idea... this happens in our country? In San Francisco????? Oh my...

The treatment of the people of this movement by the police is reason enough to protest. These are some of the most kind, most brave, and most selfless people in our country. And this is how they are treated. Flood into the streets people, something is terribly wrong

  • @sneeekos You are not familiar with police state repression in black and brown communities esp. in San Francisco. Not only is there "something" terribly wrong, its been wrong for over 500 years, keep waking up...its time for the leadership of the most oppressed (not just the white guys/gals in dreads).

  • @xicanabolshevik I humbly acknowledge my ignorance, and that of my peers. The other truly frightening point is that this is how they act under the scrutiny of dozens of video cameras. I echo your call for leadership of the most oppressed.

  • @sneeekos - For whites living in gated communities, this may seem a shocker. For minorities living in inner cities, intimidation, verbal abuse, and police brutality are a routine. It is interesting to see people's love for authority figures, cops, military, etc. Whenever these incidents occur, someone always comes up with "that's few bad apples..". I say there are few good apples among many bad.

  • I wonder as that officer looks at her, if HE realizes that could be HIS DAUGHTER!!! How wrong is this? Very wrong!! Just wrong! The people have the right to assemble peacefully. Our FIRST AMENDMENT IS IN DANGER - We must not let this brutality and wrong doing by the police forces go unseen or ignored!! REPOST THIS video - GO VIRAL
