I love arctic cat atvs but that is one ugly looking turd. We don't have any sand dunes in the south! I hope that picture is deceiving. If not that thing just took the ugly duck award away from Honda big red!
@ATVTVCOM when i go to the local dealer the only machines is see in the shop are Polaris, i just don't see what everybody see's in them things, there ugly. the only thing i can give them credit on is the Rzr, that is sleek.
@SCROGY Good points, although I wasn't thinking about snowmobiles, I did a piece a while back on the founder - amazing guy! Trailing arm rear suspension I remember well - in fact I think it's still a better setup than IRS ;-) First front a-arms might be questionable - but you proved your point my friend.....well done!
@ATVTVCOM My dad raced for a Cat dealer in Oshawa Ontario in the 1970's: Pine Ridge sports. They were a Cat dealer on HWY 2 (King St) bewteen Oshawa and Bowmanville. There are still some pictures around of the Kawartha Cup from Peterborough and still many of the old trophies. I can still remember the ear shattering sounds of them working on the (mod) sleds at the dealership. I would have been about 2-3 years old. That was when Pete Derocheres and Jilles Villeneuve raced.
Looks very cool, As most artic cat's do. Hope that it is a real competitor, and not just cool looking and awakard. I am disappointed that Suzuki is the only company that has no side by side at all. Although I think the big red is more like the Mule.
Will the wild cat have a motor made by kymco? (not sure if i'm spelling that right)
cant wait to get actual testing and specs on it. hope it lives upto its hype though. very nice design. looks like it might have a decent center of gravity putting the driver and passenger low in the cockpit, unlike the Teryx where they ride higher, but that also brings up the visibility issue. oh well cant wait till actual specs are released
@somekid908 Now i'm no can am fan, but the new commander looks like it's already got the rzr beat.. hopefully the kitty will give the commander some competition.
@somekid908 the 900 has been tested and proven, this cat looks like it would be a beast but its power to weight ratio is shit next to the 900. i'm guessing in a desert environment this would be outstanding but 900 will still win if you like the dunes per say, don't know just my outlook on it.
sweet!

Will you be reviewing this or do you only review Polaris machines?

@geech08 Hopefully we'll be reviewing it.

the seats look to far back from the steering wheel. i hope that the ergos are okay

The cage looks like it would collapse in a roll over. Nothing to support that long arc from the center hoop to the front door post.

Don't know.....Artic Cats always look good on paper but fail to live up to expectations in the real world

@Bob67755 I'm pretty much with you on that ;-(
ATVTVCOM 6 months ago
@plummcrazy58 What? Maybe you need to go look at the sno cross results.
SCROGY 4 months ago
@plummcrazy58 Fail? Hardly. Arctic Cat has probably had as many or more ground breaking developments than anyone else.
SCROGY 3 months ago
@SCROGY Name one !
ATVTVCOM 3 months ago
@ATVTVCOM I'll name three:
1) First company to make what is currently the modern snomobile design: front engine layout BEFORE Bombardier
2) First company to ustilise trailing arm suspension: Trail Cat
3) First company to utilise A-arm front suspension 1987 El Tigre
That's as far as I know. If any of these are wrong feel free to correct them.

@DukeWhite04 Actually I think the engine is a modified version of the Arctic Cat engine in the Thundercat. Whew!
ATVTVCOM 11 months ago
@DukeWhite04
Could be eyecandy ) I would stick with what's already proven itself , Like the Razor S and now XP
Or some of the others out there . I have seen same thing with car mfg , They catch your eye first then
Bammm . But maybe not . Just have to wait and see .

@Harruff750 Us too! Unfortunately like many AC's over the years, the specs look awesome but the 'real life' performance is anything but ;-)

damn! The rzr 900 has competition that could very like kick its ass. We'll see how reliable this wildcat is though

@imsroll And when you see the suspension in action it's not nearly as controlled as the XP.
