akline666, I ended up getting the Kodak Zi-8, its amazing, battery life is great, I can pick between quality modes, it has a removable battery and the memory is done by sd cards so you can pick sizes, I have 16gb in mine, odds are i will never use all of it, I highly recommend it

I was considering the JVC, sony, creative and kodak, but flip is the easiest to use, to get parts for, to get batteries for since they use AA's and alot more, its a little shaky, who cares really, the 4gb version is good enough for me because without the

image stabilizer of the other model it will get twice the battery life

I just got a ultra hd; 179 at walmart. They have a ultra model too for about 149, but spend the extra few dollars for the hd one. The videos this thing takes is crystal clear, vibrant colors, pretty amazing. It is way simple to use. The only downside I can see is that "shaky" cam thing. But it is flat on the bottom so you can set it on a table or something and the picture comes out great.

While I was roller blading my camera was shaky. WELL DUH GENIUS! Listen folks I have this camera and it is great. If you want to shoot rock solid no shake video just rest the camera on a rail, stick, car roof, tree limb ok you get the idea. I used this camera on my skate board going 25mph down a hill and my video was smooth! The camera has a great mic and the software in the camera is so easy to use. All of my Youtube videos were uploaded with a flip ultra & ultra HD.

O,o Plus on top of that while your roller blading you have to move side to side anyways which makes taking videos even more shakey

Flip Ultra HD is a very good camera for those types of things to be recorded. It has a very good quality for its size, and 1080p is GREAT for youtube. At a concert, like a Metallica concert, or a screamo like you said, the audio quality will be top-notch for the size. It will still fit in your jean pocket, but the Mino HD will do it better. The Ultra HD is better because it has 2x the memory as the Mino, from 4GB on the Mino to 8GB on the Ultra. These are really good presents for xmas comin up.

I just bought a flip ultra HD.

When I upload a video to my computer, I'm having some problems with the playback. The video playback is like, stop & go, freeze & play, etc.

Is this because the HD uses massive memory? Or am I doing something wrong?

Because it's HD video, if you're running a lot of programs or don't have a fairly new computer (or a very good graphics card/processor), you could see some playback issues. You could always try restarting the computer or using another program such as VLC Media Player, which is a small, free download (just google it).

Its becouse the videos are in extremly high quality and pc's slow down while playing them , just get sony vegas (movie maker will work too) and compress it into hd format , there will almost be none loss in quality and it will run smoothly

A much more "Honest" review in regards to the camera shake thing and Image stabilization issue. Remember people the more a camera or video camera is "zoomed" in the more you will get camera shake. Your magnifying the shake along with the zoom. Just like a telescope. for 200 bucks your not going to get a "Real" Image Stabilization lens only a "Software" poor mimic of the Images Stabilization.

I suggest getting a longer lanyard, put it around your neck, and hold the camera in front of you while pulling the string against your neck. That helps when a tripod won't work for the situation (moving)

I have the orginial Flip Ultra in orange, and it has better quality then this. Lot less shaky, this picture looks a little clearer though, because of the HD. Wont upgrade until they do something about the skipped frames.
