  • Never really felt much religious-wise since I was in middle school, but this song always gets something out of me.

  • My orchestra is playin this for our pops concert. Its soo much fun! especially for us violins

  • This is, in fact, a slightly different arrangement, so it could be that it isn't out-of-tune, only in a different key.

  • ok im sure no one will believe me but my grandfather is the orchestra director in this video.

  • Mr. Pancheri's your grandfather? I always loved his work when we went to First Baptist.

  • wow

  • Thanks for uploading the song. Crap, I'm the solo flute. It is SUPER HARD.

  • We just played this today! It was amazing!

  • I'm an eighth grader and I played this as a first violin with my city's junior symphony and it was so much fun! the last stanzas are especially fun because our crazy conductor took it seriously fast! this is my favorite orchestral piece ever!

  • by far the hardest song i have ever played on violin but also the most fun

  • This song.....*Sigh*

  • ive played 1st violin part for this song before. It's sooo fun.

  • I'm a freshmen in high school, and I'm trying to play this song for 1st violin, I think it's really challenging.

  • playing this with our orchestra at the moment. its not easy on the 3rd page.

i really want to know how they got the piccolo to carry so well. our player is so quiet.

  • if it's a solo then i can't blame her.

    solos are hardddd

my picc is always out of tune right when i need to play even if i tune it before a concert so i'm very self conscious about it.

  • Hey darkprincess! I also play flute and I am looking for the sheet music for flute for this piece. Do you have any ideas where I could get it? I have tried a few different places online and all I can find are full orchestra or concert band scores.

    Hope you can help thanks!

  • Ronan Hardiman's great Irish melodies are now available from seoltamusic online store. This piece will be available from next week.

  • who's the composer?

  • and the arranger is Larry Moore.

  • I played this too, freshman year in HS.

  • im a flute player at springwood high and we have to play this for band. it is pretty hard! i think we play a different arrangement of it though, this one sounds different...

  • The real name of this tune is simple gifts by

Joseph Bracket 1797 you can hear it played on

audiosparx by searching for simple gifts.

This is just a rip off.

  • Its not simple gifts. Its Lord of the Dance. My High school band played this.

  • The origin of the song known as "Lord of the Dance" is the shaker song "Simple Gifts" from 1848.

  • i loved this song.

We played it this year in the Murfressboro Youth Orchestra. Being the Principal Piccolo player i got to play the Beautiful solo in the begining. But didn't sound like what it did in here. Must have used a different type of piccolo. It sounds more realistic. I loved it.

  • haha , i'm playing this piece for my school XD

  • we're playing this in our orchestra

    (:

  • I play this also with my orchestra :)

  • Wow.. we played this in our orchestra concert and we're playing it in newyork.. its really cool and it sounds awesome!

  • I play the clarinet in an orchestra and we play this

    it's so cool

  • Cool performance. Don't the percussionists look like they're having the time of their lives?

Playing this in orchestra at the moment, but I've got the harp part which you guys played on the piano.

  • We have 2 play this :D

  • i wished the sound quality would be better

  • me too...

  • Sorry guys...my digicam's sound isn't great...

  • i played this arrangement with my orchestra ^^

  • This sounds like the Larry Moore arrangement for symphony orchestra. I've seen a band play Richard Saucedo's arrangement, & the xylophone soloist was really great.

  • We are playing this for our next concert. I have to say that the cello part is so easy, it rocks!!

    :D

  • dance dance where ever you may be,

i am the lord of the dance said he

and i'll lead you all, wherever you may be

and i'll lead you all in the Dance, said he

    XP

  • I played for the fisherman , james and john, they came with me so the dance went on!

  • We did this version in FOBISSEA Music festival in South Korea in 2004, I played the viola! Such a nostalgic song to listen to!

  • great song, great arrangement but may i mention it is very hard to play on the violin

  • Cry of the celts is a really fun piece to play!:D 1:Nightmare 2:Suil a ruin 3:Breakout 4:Lament 5:Victory That's how it is in the arrangement that I play with my band, and I've been looking it up on youtube, but I can't find the fourth part, Lament:S Someone else that does?
