Thank you for posting this. I worked Humanitarian Relief Operations in Africa and Asia for almost ten years. I often turn this song off when I hear it now, because of the nightmares and flashbacks it causes me....it is a good sentiment, but so many Americans can't even begin to understand it.
@stalker1647 No they can't, but they're starting to...as abject poverty hits home - with unemployment easily over 15% (...and it's not even January yet...), with millions of Americans living on the street...they'll start to understand what this song means. When thier loved ones have to beg for a scrap to eat, when diving in dumpsters for a crust of bread becomes a highly considerable option to a restless night of stomach cramps. Except for those driving by...they still have something to learn..
This is the one Ive been searching for, I wanna thank you so much for posting this one up; it really brought back memories of how we should be all together. Im really glad that you posted this one up. It really had great memories in it. Thanks so much and God bless
What a lovely video! Your photos certainly portray exactly the message the artists were trying to send when they recorded this nearly 30 years ago. I remember when this hit the airwaves in 1984 and I still own my vinyl copy of the song with the extended version. The song is a great reminder of the power people have to make a difference in this world. Thanks.
I love this version! Thank you so much for posting! I have one question though, just before Bono starts talking, what kind of instrument makes that ominous noise? It sounds similar to something I heard in "It Doesn't Have to Be This Way" by the Tourists, I was wondering if it was and what makes it? It is beautiful yet haunting. Thanks again for posting! :)

Have heard all the other remakes of this song but they don't even come close, this is by far the best Christmas song ever.
