  • the print on that needs to be restored

  • The pinball music makes it even scarier

  • v of pinball

  • i was playing youtube snake and i lost at about 12 dots):

  • believe it or not i accually REALLY like this :)

  • why is it so scary?

  • @CKSpoiler you have to think like an early Baby-Boomer... someone who grew up before most people had televisions, and who actually thought that the 'V' might just come out and get them. Add to that once the five-tone synthesizer tune became part of it (along with the low-quality audio of most TV's at the time), and you had people who were wondering what the hell makes that sound. For those of us who grew up with TV and computers, it's just something that we find funny...

  • V of PinbALL

  • I wonder if the V of Doom with pinball music is really a legit logo. What i mean, is, did the program from which it was taken originally have the v-ia-com pinball,

and then was plastered over w/ the V of doom later on, but the pinball jingle somehow remained on the soundtrack, instead of the V of Doom's jingle? If anyone knows, please reply.

  • @cmulwee001 The pinball music with the V of Doom is actually a variant of the v of doom logo the v of doom is not plastering the pinball logo with the music still intact for the first year the v of doom was on tv it used the pinball music

  • @Childist2

So what you're saying is that the V of Doom, even the color version really DID have this music for a short while until a new "theme" could be composed especially for this logo .Correct?

  • @cmulwee001 Correct.

  • I like this one for some reason.

  • It was a warning message of real V nightmare is coming

  • @Sebadabada lol

  • First viacom v of doom logo.

  • This is the video taped VHS v of doom from 1976.

  • You'll run into every now-and-again, but it is becoming more and more rare.

  • For some reason, the pinball music makes this much scarier than with the standard "V of doom" music.

  • No, I don't think so. The regular 'V of Doom' theme is much worse.

  • i dunno, this one seems a bit more...sinister. and it doesn't use the Intellivision font like the v-ia-com. Without the intellivision joke killing it the Pinball music is much worse.

  • However, the colour version of this logo (with the music from Viacom's first logo) was seen on the TV movie Eric (1975).

  • I like it better with the regular V of Doom theme

  • The pinball theme?

  • yea not with the v of doom it was a mishap

  • @wiley207 it doesnt flow with the pinball

  • @wiley207 agreed what a goof up by viacom

  • Viacom pinball.

  • This is a mix of the original 1971 "aural" I.D. with the '80's logo {obviously from a black & white program}- I saw this on TV a few times.....

  • I never did due to tv statios logo cut off pratices.

  • I've never seen this on TV.

  • Therefore, it is no longer available just like the Viacom 1971 logo.
