  • love the flow

  • Wow. I really liked your hybrid technique. That's waht i was looking for

  • This is flamenco alright! It is clearly Alegrías and every bit in compás. So, what is he problem! Now a days people are playing flamenco on piano, Indian sitar (look up Anoushka Shankar), bass guitar, etc. & I don't hear anyone complaining about those, but all of the sudden, a clearly accomplished player like you uses a pick, now this is not flamenco! Granted, playing picado with pick is different, or some of the rasgueados can't be done using pick (I think!), but this is excellent. Congrats!!!

  • Man don't be shy, your technique is nice. yes it isnt flamenco puro but it is flamenco. and such a nice alegria

  • so you play hybrid but i'm interested if you use long nails on those 3 remaining fingers? i'd really appreciate the answer!

  • @pleic Yes, the remaining three nails are like a normal flamenco player.

  • @Guitarwizard

thanks a lot for a quick reply.

  • Mad compositional skills man. You're like the next vicente!!!!! :)

  • Todd, Holy sh*t man...that alegrias is friggin tight!!! you rule with the plectrum man!!! i didn't know you were so bad ass with flamenco with the pick. Keep up your hybrid style it's so cool and unique to watch. I can't keep smiling haha. dude! :D- CarloJ

  • Great!

  • if thes is not falmenco then paco and vicente are not playing flamenco either!!

  • Wow. It's been a while since I saw this. No words...

  • My teacher! omg that was a lot 2 take in!!!

    Sarah and Clint

  • can you send me the tabs for this song please on this e-mail adress(avro92@hotmail.com), it's very good composition!

  • @ 37 sec. he did flamenco, just sayin

  • i definitely like the pick alzapua

  • What a gun! I have been listening to flamenco for more than 30 years now, but never did I imagine such beautiful flamenco guitar music could be executed using a plectrum! Amazing. You are possessed of great talent and ingenuity. Well done.

As for the purists - it's their loss if they refuse to let their hearts resonate to the wonderful sounds of your Alegria! Keep up the good work.

  • Amazing right hand tech, the music is without a doubt flamenco, however he plays with a plectrum wich is unheard of in flamenco, he got some tallent there.

  • hey, man, this is awesome, really not flamenco LOL

don't know why people look at the nylon strings guitar and say it's flamenco, there are a lot of styles that are played with nylon strings, like "MPB" Música Popular Brasileira [ brazilian folk music, trranslating, i guess ]

  • its flamenco because it follows the specific compas and harmonic structure that the palo alegrias dictates.

  • beautiful...

  • No words to describe your playing.Just a Maestro

  • Master!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    :::Rodo:::

  • really i saw you movie every day you really maestro and 1 day you will be legend in guitar and in flamenco good luck wish you all the best maestro @ amitiè hichem kafi

  • Jose Merced said once " If it sounds flamenco than it is flamenco". So i guess it does not matter as long as what you play sounds flamenco. And this really if i don't look at your hands and just listen to your playing it is Flamenco, OLE!!!!

  • hey man, what do you use for the percussion and bass?

  • It's insulting NOT to call this flamenco, haha.

If Pedro Ricardo Munoz can be widely respected as an excellent flamenco pianist, you can be respected as a flamenco guitarist.

    There's a beautiful saying:

:"Flamenco is the player, not the instrument".

    keep it up man XD

  • whoaa...sweet!

  • pretty salty, nice

  • Nicely done. ^_^

  • Bravo

  • Very nice... beautiful tune!

  • Joer...con la pua el tio !!....pero le suena bien. supongo que le limitara para tocar muchas cosas .

  • its greath and inspiring!also here in belgium there are a lot of scared arogant spanisch purist people who think there the king and they are terrible with money i never play with them enymore, here in belgium there is nothing to do......i play them all to home.more than 15years i am playing my own flamencomusic and still nobody asks me to play because they cant

give a place to my music greetings myrddin

  • Beautiful piece of music and wicked right hand technique, I might have to ask for some advice on that topic!

  • ON dirait vicente amigo non?

  • You are a GENIUS!!! and one of the best musician I've seen on YouTube and elsewhere!!!

  • Very nice. You make a strong point for the pick wich I've never respected. More flamenco than most of the stuff out there.

  • How do you play rasgueados? for example in Vicente Amigo's Tangos del Arco Bajo... Can you put a video? :) thanks

    You're amazing, 5 stars

  • this is really good, like....jazzmenco or something thumbsss uppppppp

  • is that a hohner ?

  • Not a Hohner. The guitar is a co-build by Richard Brune, and Austurias workshop.

  • I really enjoyed that - loved the latin vibe - good technique especially using a pick and fingers rather than pure fingerstyle. That is not easy on a conventional classical fingerboard as the strings are widely spaced.

  • Flamenco is not a way of play, is how it sounds, and you sound flamenco.Go on, you have a great compás!. un saludo desde españa.

  • very nice flamenco playing, did you learn traditional flamenco? I want to learn what you played

  • oo i get it.. this guy maybe say that is not flamenco cause he is using a guitar pic... well i love the effect of the guitar the sound.. the recording it´s pretty cooll!!

  • oleeeeeeeeeeeeee..eres una revolucion.see mys videos.un abrazo.

  • so can you use hybrid picking to achieve a flamenco style sound?

  • You wanna call it something... call it impossible. That is what it is. Great Job.

  • I hear palmeros or palmas. How is this not flamenco?

  • There are people out there, lets call them "Flamenco puro's", who would say this

is not flamenco simply for the reason, i am

using a plectrum (a pick) I got tired of them

constantly saying "you're not flamenco" so i now title my clips "not flamenco" to shut them up. :) Mad world eh? Cheers! GW

  • i'm sorry what exactly defines a flamenco player?

and is it possible to play their pieces with picks?

    thanks

  • Amazing! I've never seen a pick AND fingers on the same hand used together like that before, and so cleanly played. Just Fantastic :-)

  • its flamenco maaan u r goood with the pick! never seen someone plays flamenco with a pick beforE! :D

  • This is one of the best alegrias I´ ve ever heard...Sorry...this is flamenco, I promise, and you are amazing man!!! Congratulations!!!

  • If this is not flamenco then you are not a guitarrist. You're probably the only one on earth who can play flamenco that good with a pick.

  • Dude, don't be afraid to call this flamenco. It IS!

You have the aire, the toque, the duende and soniquete!

  • Hey what ever happened to one of your video. It's one of favorite.

  • 5 stars and more for your virtuosity and for so nice a piece of music ! Great enjoyment !

    Thank you ! you're talentuous !

  • you are really fantastic

i see firs time this kind of right hand technique.mix of pick and finger at the same time

  • This sounds OK and it IS definitely flamenco.

Very nice mix of pick- and fingerstyle.

    greetings

    Hans (jazz/flamenco guitarist)

  • aunque a tí no te lo parezca, esto si que es flamenco ya que el flamenco tiene diversos palos y no todos son tristes o profundos.

  • Amazing!! I was so surprised after seeing your centrifugal funk and Stevie jams!! You're a very complete musician and a great inspiration, thankyou.

  • sounds very similar to vicente's "la tarde es caramelo"- the afternoon is sweetness

  • sounds very similar to vicente amigo's "la tarde es caramelo"

  • C'est super beaux !!! bravo !!! franchement si j'arrivais a jouer cmme sa ben... XD

  • You are fantastic guitar player, it is incredible how you move your fingers, exclente. Congratulatiohns. Yolanda

  • that is some amazing non-flamenco flamenco you've created here....excellent and incredible ...with extra special happiness on top.

  • believe me I'm an aficionado and pretty technically and soulfull player and what you're playing is flamenco, forget that you use a pick..the sound is v.good..well done and understand you prob had to say 'this isn't flamenco' to stop inflexible people giving you earache..keep it up..!

  • What he might mean is that all Spanish guitar music is not Flamenco and he would be right. I believe Alegrias is what you might call Spanish 'Folk' or traditional

    Harold

  • No, let me explain a little bit hehe. Lets say flamenco is a big style. For this example compare it to the jazz.

In jazz there are fusion jazz, bebop, nu-jazz, west and east coast jazz...In flamenco, they have "types" of songs, based on harmony and rythm. Alegrias, Bulerias, Tarantas, Tangos, Soleares...but they're all part of Flamenco. And this definitely sounds very flamenco, if you don't watch you can't notice he's using a pick!

  • 10!

  • you play "non"flamenco better than i do! and i'm spanish :(...how embarasing :( beautiful tune though!

  • This is about as good as flamenco gets!

    Very, very impressive.

  • Absolutely amazing... very clean recording too, thanks

  • Bonito. :)

Si dices que no es flamenco, pues no es flamenco. Pero bueno, no es muy lejos tambien...

  • have you guys checked the overall structure of this alegrias? only somebody who knows very well the structure of the alegrias can play like this guy...

  • this is ART

  • amazing ! very nice !

  • NOT FLAMENCO????? come on, man....

Are you sure you are American and not from Jerez de la Frontera?

  • I love the way the Bass Lines Are as Fast as yours,I love the whole thing.Mclaughlin Influenced? With Kai Eckhart.Really good stuff.

  • Guadcaza, let us see a video of the Alegrias you write and perform. You must be

awfully great considering you have the balls

to ask me why i dont just play american folk

music. You dont think that's just a tad disrespectful? This is precisely the type

of response that inspires me to label this

"Not flamenco". There are too many people

    like you.

  • Look, Guitarwizard, I don´t know why you even bother to answer to these comments. I don´t give a damn whether you label this as flamenco or not. The fact is that your guitar sings pure Spanish flamenco. I think after a few more of these videos, we are all going to start playing our flamenco guitars with a pick here in Spain. Btw, great jazz lesson also!! If you ever get tired of living in US, you should come to Spain and teach us some flamenco... Rgds from Spain.

  • Guadcaza was saying that if its not flamenco why play it like it is? He also said leave the flamenco to the flamencos and the non gypsies to do there non gypsie music(Ps this means you!)

  • You are an a amazing musician, wizard!

  • look at him go!!! picking a thousand miles an hour, and check out the soundroom. shweet.

  • very impressive

  • that's so good keep doing..

  • you're just perfect...

  • You're really amazing... Your hybrid picking technique is perfect. I admire you :)

  • OH..

  • why do you refuse to call it flamenco?

    its very similar

  • fantastic man. very clean indeed.

  • I find it funny you can maintain that flamenco nature with a pick!! Great job!

  • nice playin´ man. is it possible to get a tab of this piece?

  • I never tabbed this piece out, sorry!

Im not good at tabbing music, its very slow

and tedious proccess for me. I am an ear player. Sorry i couldnt help you! :-(

Thanks for watching and commenting man!

I will add you to my friends!

    GW

  • Todd thanks so much !! Is posible than you make a video whith your amazing technical of your right hand??

  • That is so insanely humbling that I just want to burn my guitar.

  • Oh God! Dont burn you guitar!! LOL :-)

Come on over to my house, and i'll show you

    some licks! ;-)

  • If I lived closer I'd definately take some lessons. That hybrid picking style is just amazing.

  • Ole!!

  • Hey, cool. Where can one a tab of this?

  • If I wasn't watching your right hand I wouldn't tell the differnce in the sound between traditional flamenco technique and what you are doing. U can't believe you even got the alzapua sound down. Great compositioin as well!

  • alegrias are a sub-division of flamenco ¬¬'

    ...

    anyway! you're awesome! x)

  • Its always been my dream to play like you :)

    Great playing!

  • wow congrats man - unique crossove rtechnique

  • How this is not flamenco....

    huuhuh =)

  • Excelente....we should play together.....

  • very good...

  • Very good job!!!

This man is unic playing flamenco guitar...

    Congratulations!!!!

    T. care...

    F.R.

  • thats some good shit man very impressed its a lot like paco de lucia's style.

  • Don't be afraid to call it flamenco dude. It has all the parts necessary and now it has become bigger than the sum of all the parts;D.

I was wondering where you got that rythm section from. You seem to have a studio. Did you make it yourself or buy it from a cd. If you made it yourself, could you send it to me by email? :)

  • Its a piece of a rhythm i lifted from a Vicente Amigo Alegrias (cajon and palmas) i can send it to you. Thanks for watching! GW

  • who's this dude?uh?

i have played with pick for 15 years nylon strings, but this is the first time i see somebody doing this hibrid.he's really good with both pick and fingers.I do it very well at any style, but you man,let me tell you, you're soo good.congrat!!!

  • I think he plays the 'hold' music when I'm the phone with Microsoft Tech support.

But seriously, this is nice. Why do your guitar skills an injustice with synth/remixed accompaniment? No digi-claps for me thanks.

  • The background accompaniment is actually stolen from Vicente

Amigo's City of Ideas album. So you should talk to him about

his digital claps that sound like Microsoft hold music. Im sure he would be interested to know how much you dont like it. :-)

  • You're playing is awesome, don't bother lifting a track... do your own claps. :)

  • I agree, i'd like to do my own "Palmas". However, doing great Palmas isnt so easy. Im not a "Palmero". My own Palmas tracks sound like "claps" and not like a real Palmero. That's why i lift the tracks.

  • Wow. Its great

  • it doesn't matter what style it is and what technique, what matters is the musical result !

He is a highly talented player, what is his name?

  • Todd Kreuzberg (maybe Kreuzburg)

  • it's flamenco. compas is excellent. his right hand technic is wrong but... he plays very well!

  • NICE FLAMENCO SONG!! I LIKE!

  • NOT FLAMENCO, ok keep your hair on

  • NOT FLAMENCO! Just superdeluxeguitarplayin'... :)

  • nice man

  • Wonderful, Expressive soulful Music. So good to hear your play and to find other people around the world who are into the same kind of things musically as me!!! Awesome.

  • that was Fantastic Tod!

  • This is spanish guitar not flamenco

  • Fantastico! Loved it.

  • you dont do flamenco but you play flamenco so we can say this is flamenco.and you are so good i apreaciate you

  • Very, very good.

  • Well, it sounds pretty damn flamenco to me :-)

By the way, what kind of stuff/program do you use for the palmas (hand-clapping)??

  • Very nice.

  • I really like it, if musicians aren't locked to traditions etc., for example playing a flamenco guitar always with the nails. You can play a flamenco guitar with a pick and I do that too (actually a classical guitar) and I don't call my music flamenco then, but why always follow rules or traditions, that would stop the evolution and development.

  • Just .... Ole Ole what a Compass men You 've got it

  • nice demonstration of mixing techneaks. I wish more guitarist would realise you don't have to play things exactly like given and create there own sound.

  • You, good sir, are fantastic, keep it up!

  • wow! you are amazing!

  • Yes, very loosely.

  • Your are an inspiration my friend thaks for sharing.

  • Interesting, you don't use the index finger, you are using a ... (don't remember the english word). Great music

  • the word is "pick"

  • How refreshing! Finally someone on youtube with some REAL talent! Do you play professionally?

  • Thanks Funky!! :-) Ive been playing just about my whole life. Great to hear you like the music!! GW

  • good facial expressions.

  • rofl

  • I play professionally 18 years and I can tell you this guy is not an amateur! Very nice. Post some more.

  • this is a very nice play. i'm spanish (from sevilla, andalusia) and i'd say that its strongly based on alegrias but anyway i like yours more than Paco de Lucia's ones jejeje trust me this is a lovely song man thanks to upload it!!

  • is this is not flamenco , then i'm not spanish :=)

  • you are my gooooood guy...thanks

  • ulan salak herif, bu gavura ne diyon "sen benim allahimsin" diye, kafasi bozuk arap tohumu.

  • i am back watching your stuff again and man its good stuff i play like puerto rican music alot and i can play fast picking runs and all but man your pickin is amazing with not only the runs but all the chording and and stuff so i just wanted to say really great stuff!!by the way you look only like 24 years old :-)

  • pretty good todd

  • Thanks stank! :-)

  • hi great playing i loved it i wanted to ask why do you use the capo is it cause you tune down? thanks great playing!!!

  • I meant to add, I dont really care wether what i play is considered flamenco or thrash metal. I just enjoy playing music, whatever you want to call it is up to you. Its all about having fun.

  • it's funny you should mention metal.

i played a bunch of the solo flamenco videos through a distortion pedal and then into the stereo and it sounds wicked.

  • why do you insist to say that this is not flamenco?

  • Good question!! hahaha Because i play with a pick, i have many flamenco "purists" commenting that im not playing "Real" flamenco, and that its wrong to use the pick, its not "true" flamenco. So i fixed that problem by simply saying its not flamenco in the title. As you can see, it works perfectly. I have had no purists coming here and bashing me since then.

  • you WROTE this???? O_O

you almost made me give up the electric. almost.

  • What guitar you playing?

  • Hi, great music! And very nice playing.
