What I love about these rock-Christian bands and songs is they never refer to god or Jesus directly (usually). It allows us to replace the position God had in the song with something more personal, or something we recognize, or

someone/something that we love, instead of slamming God in are face.

I love certain things more then I could ever love God (no not material items) so with these songs I can appreciate them and relate to them perfectly, due to the absence of religious names.

Anyone who has a problem with this song as being too dark or not "uplifting" must also have a problem with Psalms and Lamentations. both express feelings of helplessness, sorrow and pain. Just because a song expresses a person's pain or dark sorrow doesn't mean it's evil or anti-christian...We as humans fall into dark times. it's part of life. i am a christian and i was raised in the traditional christian home where this would be considered devils music. i think this is a good way to reach non-believers. if everyone would actually listen to thier lyrics they would understand that they are trying to reach people.
