  • R.I.P. Dan Wheldon =( Great Driver involved in many of these finished. Won 2 of em and finished 3rd in the other. Racing lost a LEGEND.

  • That is so close 2.5 thousands of a second shit me

  • i hate american racing....and this shows why.......EVERY single clip the commentator said "omg they're side by side!!!"

  • @hazo2000 so what kind of racing you like?

  • @hazo2000 Yeah because series like F1 the car are never side by side. Everyone plays follow the leader until he makes a mistake.

  • must suck to come 2nd here

  • wow beats f1

  • @1n9mar In 2011, every racing series beats f1

  • 1:50 for commentator going through puberty

  • every time on those close finishes, the one on the outside of the conners wins with al little bit more speed :D

  • Chicagoland always delivers great finishes.

  • please please please bring back this broadcast team

  • Meira said "Fuck it! go big or go home!" @ kansas speedway. That was awesome.

  • the closest nascar finish was closer :P

  • back then the only thing indy is good for is close finishes

  • great fernandez

  • 01:5

  • 6 people are filthy rednecks.

  • i don't get why people argue over whether nascar is better, or the irl, or formula one etc. i love watching all of them no matter what and you know why? because i like racing...simple as that

  • @xmn86 wow. I'm just the same, dude. I don't really car, be it NASCAR, Indycar, Formula 1, Le Mans, Grand Am, I like it. it doesn't matter to me what racing league it is, it's just as long as it's racing, and it's exciting.

  • seriously, I have 3 words for people who think oval racing is boring:

WATCH...THIS...VIDEO!!! this shows what makes Indycar racing on ovals so great. I'm more of a road racing fan myself, but when the Indycar series races on an oval, It is imperative that I see it, because it's always gonna be great! awesome vid, dude!

  • i love american commentators, much better than the boring germans in formula one *yawn*

  • That´s racing ;-)

  • 2:04 ... omg so close

  • great video!

  • omg how many has hornish been in xD? haha

  • These are the Tony George crapwagons that destroyed open-wheel racing in America.

  • Hell yeah!! Fernandez my Idol !!!!

  • Yes i agree the finishes of indycar oval racing is good but, in the meantime before the finish thee is no real braking battles into corners or no real challenging corners per say

  • people who says ovals are boring have GOT to watch this video. This is the epitome of oval racing

  • man that 2002 chicago race, has to be the best ever finish. but the 3 wide finish,is really good also.

  • Great racing indeed. I wish they would get Paul Page back to announce for Indycar. He is the best.

  • These are pretty impressive, but the next indyfanboy fuck tard that makes fun of NASCAR for only running on ovals will notice that ALL of these tracks NASCAR runs on.

  • WT..F

  • Incredibile solo 24 millesimi di secondo.... però nei catini è tutto diverso!!

Chissà se ci sono stati ex equo nella storia della F1 o della Formula Indy?

  • 1:25 nice!

  • #3 for sheer importance Sam's win at the season ending race earned him another IRL title.

  • and the 2nd closest finish was in Chicagoland, 2008 - Castroneves between Dixon and Castroneves win with 0.0033 seconds...

  • I love Vitor Meira. There, I said it.

  • I agree!!! Vitor is a great driver!! He just needs to stay in good equiptment long enough to win

  • Yeah but NASCAR doesn't have nearly as many exciting finishes.

  • nascar is for fags. indy cars rock. the indy 500 is the greatest! race in the world

    nascar can go to hell.............

    go danica

  • nascar is a joke! look at dega this last sunday they almost killed their fans. because they run those stupid res plates. 99 boyz you retard most all indy car races have at least 22 cars per race and what the fuck indy cars do not turbos they run honda indy V8s and yes they do touch wheels some times. and who cares if they can touch the idea is to finish the race and not crash. nascar is trash indy is the highest form of racing

  • yea well we have 43

  • not by the end of the race those stupid bastards always crash 10 cars on lap9 at dega and then another pile up with just 9 to go if they had any talent they would not always crash

  • Racing must be the best job in the world

  • IRL is better then F1. F1 is the same guys winning every decade it seems. IRL has some variety, I hope there is more of it this season then last. I wonder though if anybody can beat Dixon. I am going to say that this season the champ will either be Marco Andretti or Tony Kannan

  • In 2010 and 2011 the Indy Car series is going to look so different with the addition more road and street courses and when the series switches to turbo engines.

  • I like the voice of the commentator at 1.51

  • But I like IndyCar way better than F1

  • NASCAR has way better finishes, and they can actually beat and bang

  • I agree with the bumping and banging, but the IRL isnt rigged or boring like NASCAR. plus IRL cars go much faster than NASCAR

  • Thumbs down because it's true???

  • awesome!

  • hmm...in Holland is almost never american autosport on tv... but I prefer euopean races,,

  • tell you the truth i like indy more than nascar xd but its never on tv anymore o.o nascar is broing and dude the cars look like street race cars :O

  • i love auto racing, doesnt matter what kind of racing is (open wheel, stock car, sport car, etc) but open wheel is the best!

  • open wheel racing kicks a**

  • indy cars own fuck the haters.

  • Sam Hornish is in a bunch of these, but he sucks ass in NASCAR

  • great!

  • that Hornice Junior guy made a living out of those didn't he?! wasn't he in about three of those :-D great skill!

  • Its hornish you idiot

  • Love the indycars!

  • vaisifude....

    isso que é automobilismo...

  • good vid!

  • indycar and f1 suck nascar is more exciting.

  • wheres the skill and excitement in turning left for 400 laps?

  • okay why dont you try it.you wont make it out of the garage

  • Comment removed

  • doesn't indy car and f1 turn left and right too? what's the difference?

  • Indycars are a lot heavier and generally slower. F1 has never, and likely will never, run on ovals (although the old Monza course included an oval).

  • That's not entirely true on the "F1 has never run on ovals." They included the Indy 500 as a Grand Prix race for about 10-15 years back in the 60's and 70's

  • It was actually 50-59, and it was never really a "Grand Prix race"-no F1 cars, and only one or two F1 drivers, ever ran there.

  • You're right, but they did race an oval track at Monza in the 50s and 60s as part of their season. They went round the other way though, clockwise. Still race at Monza now, but on a road-course infested with chicanes.

  • they run half ovals and half street/road courses. If it didn't take skill there wouldn't be so many dead drivers over the years.

  • 1:49 - 1:54 makes me laugh SO MUCH!

  • Hilarious. " . . . I think it's jeff WARD, jeff WARD has won . . ." On the word "Ward" his voice sounds like a kazoo! LOL!

  • This needs to be updated now. Yet another one for Chicagoland.

  • wow! great video!!!!

  • 5 of those close callfinishes was over brazilian drivers, what fuck man..

  • i feel like hornish was is every one haha..that's crazy!

  • thats waaayy more than 10 finishes

  • lol "Barron takes the win from 2nd place". how is this possible

  • too bad hornish jr isnt tht good in nascar

  • Adrian Fernandez For Ever!!! Fernandez has won it by a nose!! Fernandez won 3 out of the last 5 races in 2004, he deserves more credit!

  • i 100% agree. Fernandez is the man. im still upset that honda pulled him to the ALMS (altho thats a fun series too)

  • These are the moments that make racing truly great.

  • man when jeff ward won aat texas i could not believe it man

  • Simply too close to call, especially @ Chicagoland Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway. All hail Jr. Hornish!

  • i do simracing on road courses, ive tried ovals....and i must say i have a deep respect for oval racers, its very difficult.

    go indycar !

  • Say what you will, but as much as I love road courses(they're my preferred form of action - thank God IRL is bringing in more of them) the simple fact is they do not produce the kind of exciting side-by-side finishes you often see on ovals. Its not the TRACK that's challenging when it comes to ovals, its the speed.

  • This just gets me ready for this years Indy 500!!!

  • (with voice cracking @ 1:50-1:52). LMFAO!) JEFF WARD HAS WON BY 11 THOUSANDTHS OF A SECOND!!!!!!!!

  • I don't like it when American IndyCar fans bash F1, but I don't like it when stuck up Europeans bash Indy. I love this sport! What a great video.

  • Chicagoland is always a great race

  • The 3 way finishes are amazing!! I almost shit a brick when I saw #6 at Kansas

  • Nice job on putting it together! I do have to say this though, if Indy has another finish like 2006 I might not live to see another one or any race GREAT JOB!

  • awesome video! commentators about to loose their voice box! hahahaha thats the way it should be! lots of energy! thanks for the post!

  • very true. especially at 1:50. u can even hear the other commentator laughing at the one guy whos voice is cracking

  • YEAH! hahahahahaha u r right! at 1:50 sounded like he was at a concert! when you are in it! and feel it! u gonna react to it! thats why sports are great to watch! movies sucks nowadays, so with the known expectations in sports performance, the fun part is watching the outcome! and the unknown twists and turns this what makes watching sports more fun than movies! Go Indy!

  • Heh, and people say IRL sucks. How many series do you see with finishes like that almost every year? And even more amazing is that Sam is involved in most of them.

  • awesome clip, thanks. that last finish was by a hanging damaged bumper (if it were nascar). i never realized how close to winning poor vitor came so many times. someday.

  • You know what sucks? Driving in a circle.

    Try Formula 1.

  • No, what really sucks is worthless half-wits like you who know absolutely nothing about racing.

  • why was indy 2006 left out? and why must all of sam hornish jr.'s wins be like the closest in history?

  • The 2006 Indy 500 finish isn't in the top 10 closest finishes. Marco lost to Hornish by 0.042 seconds. The 10th closest is 0.018 seconds. It's the second closest finish in Indy 500 history, though.

  • Indy in 2006 wasn't technically "that close"... It was .056 seconds (I believe...) and #10 here was .018 seconds...

  • i was at the homestead 2006 race

  • YEAH CHICAGOLAND!

  • very good!!!!

    Good Job!!!

    Can you send this video???

    Or Post it for Download??

  • I was @ both those TX races in 2002.

  • Poor Vitor, he features in three of those close finishes, and still doesnt have a win to his name.

  • thanks for posting!
