Four is truly my favorite Doctor. For the longest time, I liked all Doctors equally, but then I watched all seven of his seasons . . . and now I have a crazy, home-made, 10 foot scarf in my closet just like his.
Tom must have stumbled over his own scarf like tons of times, I imagine. Can't be easy to be running around wearing that. Anyways, I like this Doctor <3
fugly self. Well, thats only because thats what the stupid script called for. In real life a real man would have kicked River out the door and let her drift home. But Moffat has a thing for ugly creepy women. Of course he himself is fugly and creepy. Dr Who is just common rubbish now. Someone called these times the Golden Era of Dr Who. I couldn't agree with her more.
ROTFL "You must develop a sense of urgency".... yes, yes, dear Doctor, you're one to talk !! xDD you take time to change four times your clothes, you have such a great sense of urgency !! Thanks for uploading !!!! i've watched the new series but i've been dying to watch the classic !!!
Thats pretty funny that here Humans have the makings of a disintegrater gun and yet the Time Lords who are suppose to be light years ahead of mere Earthlings are astonished when the Doctor builds one in 'The Invasion of Time'.
@sallyjosie well to be fair that wasnt a disintegrater but a timer erasr gun in t invasion of time one moment you where there then bang and you never existed
I loved the old Doctor Who. The Doctor actually investigated things. In the new one he just takes one look around and has the answer. Boring! And don't get me started about the silliness of Steve moffats silly storylines. A Two-Headed Alien who wanted to marry itself? WTF?! Queen Elizabeth the 10th, Black?! Give me the old Dr anyday.
@sallyjosie It's like something out of a dream (nightmare). You're a kid and you have an iconoclastic turn, right. Everything on tv is formulaic - and then one day your channel surfing past a pbs channel and you see a weird vortex graphic. And you keep watching and you see something that is, well, *different*. It has problems, but you can look past them. The hero isn't beautiful or a jock or a military officer or a super cop. Basically, it's a show that isn't an advertisement for itself.
@sallyjosie It's not like the others at all... they take more time to do it... The signature theme wasn't an advertisement for itself (loud, wide eyed, "hey kids!" like the boy chorus schtick action movie trailers use). No montage of the heroes in various action poses. It was just a kids show; but (probably mostly by accident, looking back) it was also quite something else. It was an affront to "tv as usual". So what do they do? Co opt the show to make fanwank for Vicky Pollard types. Huh!?
@sallyjosie The show they're making now on the back of an old show is just a hack fanwanks attempt to do gay activism, and it's not even good activism because the "activist" is not concerned with anything other than exalting Club culture. It's a show that uses all the generic tropes of television, everything that is lowest common denominator. In a parallel universe, someone with creative control killed the show in '78 so Edina Monsoon and Patsy Stone couldn't get their mits on it.
@ion010101 well, RTD certainly had an agenda which he carried over into Torchwood to the point of being nauseating. But Moffats problem is that he is so full of himself that he's become like a cartoon character. It's hard to take him seriously. And you should see some of the obsessed fans over on the series 6 trailer the one thats like 41 seconds. This guy who calls himself timelordrevolution or some stupid name like that keeps taking my comments out of context and accusing me of hating the new
@sallyjosie show or actually dr who period, even though all I said is I don't like a lot of moffat's storylines. I didn't realise not being head-over-heels with every aspect of any given show equaled hating it. I just want more of the old elements back. The Dr stumbling upon a problem and jumping in to help and muddling his way to a solution. Not oh I've seen this a million times before and have the solution in a matter of minutes. And don't get me started about moffats obsession with the whole
@sallyjosie river song crap. She is so ugly, obnoxious, arrogant and creepy. She's like a female version of moffat himself which I guess in a way, would explain his obsession with this stupid storyline. At this point, no matter who that b*tch from h*ll turns out to be I think most of us real fans will be disappointed. Especially if that vomit inducing skank turns out to be his wife. Any Doctor (1-11) on his worse day could do better then that fugly troll. I'm disapointed the rating for this crap
@sallyjosie is so high. If they lowered a little maybe the BBC would get its head out of its rear-end and hire someone who actually can write real Dr Who stories. And yes, I would be only to happy to offer my services. Those idiots are actually impressed with awards. Sorry but most of us who also like star trek are now turned off by the Hugo award ever since it was given for 'The Big Good-Bye' one of the worst STNG episodes ever. And then Rick Berman at a convention actually said "Well, it might
@sallyjosie not be popular with the fans but it won an award". Can you believe the gall of that creep? So most of us are NOT impressed when that meaningless award is given out. Too bad the idiots in charge are a little slow on the uptake. Sorry but it feels good to vent without getting my head bit off or some moron demanding that I "explain" and defend my opinions. Please! Like I owe anyone any explanation for anything? I don't think so.
@ion010101 You should see how in love with moffat some of the fans are over on bbc channel doctor who series 6 trailer. I half expect some of those idiots to ask moffat to marry them. They're mindless attacks on anyone who disagrees with them is hilarious. I can't help egging some of them on, though I am sharing my honest opinion about the show. moffat is dragging this terrible storyline arc for 3 yrs! Its pathetic. And they think river is so special because she got the dr to flirt back with her
I miss the old weird days of tv. Sherlock Holmes in space. It still suffered from the vagaries of television. Camp snuck in here and there, even Monty Python had "the pretty girl" and there was no creative control; that it managed to be what it was in the mid 70s is a miracle and probably a fluke. Today, some creepy guys decided that the vagaries of tv were the things that actually defined the show - campiness, sickly sentimentality, fatuous acting and writing so horrible it's legendary.
Ah, old weird drwho, when it was a children's show for bright children, a kids show that took kids seriously, Sherlock Holmes in space... But, they just don't make tv like that; and it wasn't long before the show became farcical and a parody of itself, and eventually co-opted to be turned into a radical depiction of gay pop culture. There's something wrong with this planet.
