I found that the stock pinion gear was cut wrong and ate the main gear up in two flights and forced into an auto-rotation at 6 feet. I set it down like a pro!!
i can hear the main gear not meshing right as soon as you started your spool up and in the middle of the flight you could hear it screaching!!!!!!! dont blame hobby king for that, just learn how to mesh your gears properly.
@pimpinreddodge1 The pinion and gears from HK are junk, REALLY THEY ARE!!!. I blame them for crap products/parts. Mine was meshed correctly and stripped on the second flight. Auto-rotation from 6 feet, set it down lika pro
Hi, thanks for you video. I bought one HK 500 and did some light aerobatics at first flight. Plastic tail assembly broke in the air but I was lucky to land. After that I spent time and money trying to fix it, but again and again its componentes failed too many times. You get what you pay for, as you wisely said. If you want a good 500 just take a look at a Copter X, or even better, a T-Rex 500 Align, the former worth each dollar. The HK 500 GT is the WORST 500-Class-RC Helicopter I´ve tried.
Love the snoopy pizza box plane

@JMULIKOW Ok thankyou i found it.
What do you make of the electronics package, is it worth the money ?
Is it just as good as the real trex 500 electrics ?
Are all the electrics good quality and do they work good on the heli, would oyu see any need for upgrades?
WebsterFlyers 1 year ago
@WebsterFlyers they work great...no problems at all. You cant beat the price can you???

Ha, typical noob, I can't fly a heli routine. You get what you pay for, yes. Expensive stuff still fails if you set it up wrong.

I can't believe you just take it easy on the crash. Most people (including me) will go crazy.
Need to learn to control my emotion.

Yeouch! Snoopy proves the safety and reliability of fixed wings. Not saying anything bad 'bout helicopters mind you, I'm just sayin... 5*'s.

Did the motor move on the mount?
It happened to me on a very similar situation, but with a 450.
mmosca 2 years ago
Im not quite sure how it happened...all I know is the main gear is completely stripped. Motor must have moved on the mount I guess?
JMULIKOW 2 years ago
I kind of think...it was just a very cheap plastic gear.
JMULIKOW 2 years ago
Could be. :)
You can alway replace some key parts with original ones (or at least better ones).

Very entertaining as usual!!!! Cant wait for the next video.
