To answer your question (though I don't make videos on YT) I think people, to some extent, can't help putting on some kind of facade on camera, even if they're not consciously deciding to act a different way. Even if I'm alone and I'm filming myself, I'm so aware of the fact that I'll be seen that I can't seem to act normal. ("Act normal." That sounds like a paradox, haha.)

Even if it's a short video that no one will ever see. It's also just fun to maybe act out your alter ego.
