Anyone can start up a group, then discriminate, and dominate, thus potentially, they can harm others (ostracize) for their own self gain. There are no background checks and no peer review of group leaders and I've seen proof of what I say. A group leader who desires sheeple, can weed out the ones who they can't dominate. It's a very assuring place for a bully to thrive!

It will cost you to start up a group (meetup registration $150 US per year). The only problem with Meetup is that you may get hundreds of people to join (to join is free)but they never come out to the meetups. You rent a room, make coffee buy treats to have your meetup and three people show up. My group has over 200 and only 4% ever show up. I suggest you have a membership fee then you will only get the people that will come out. Overall Meetup is great way to meet like minded people!

Meetup is retarded. Most group meetups for groups browsed have "1 attending". What's lamer than being home alone on your computer? Being out in public, alone, waiting for people who will never show up.
