no offense meant. but i notice men in india wearing jeans for formal functions and even to weddings. generally we dont wear jeans for formal function because jeans is generally considered not formal/proper. in many countries you cannot enter a hall with jeans and sandals. you have to wear office wear or traditional.
@MegaRajarams you need to chill out dude.. guys in south india wear lungi and veshti (dhoti) most of the time.. since "jeans" are western clothing.. they are considered acceptable for events... you cant expect them to wear "office wear" .. which incidentally is only office wear in the West & Japan.. in south india, it too hot so shirt and trousers are fine for office and closed toe shoes are nt great when you have to take them off at most locations!!
