I never got my chocobos the way he did. I got two, breed the two chocobos to get the Blue and Green. Then breed the blue and green together to get the black one, and then mated the Black one with the Wonderful to get the Gold. You just need 3 chocobos to begin with... Not 4.

They must have really upgraded Shinra guards and Soldiers since Crisis core, since the "all powerful" Zack can kick ass with Cloud's weakest weapon in this game.
If you examine the pods that Zack and Cloud were being kept in, there are messages scratched on the glass about how they're planning to escape or something. Which now that I think about it is a really stupid idea, way to tip off the guards in advance.
FF 7 fanboys have such a narrow prspective. the turn base fights are boring and heve no action in them. ff 7 looks like crap(even when it orginally realesed) cut scences are not the games graphics nor are the pre render background you cant even interact with that background cause its 2d. ff7s story and characters were compared to other games crap. so ff7 fanboys admit it, get, over it, that slap yourself 1 time for every ridiculous claim youve made about ff7 being 1 of the best games ever

That scene with Zack is so sad in Crisis Core...he fights an endless Shinra army with you controlling him, then it shows him all tired out yet you still fight as him...then he dies. It's sad ;0;

@vegetamugen The battle Zack fights, Cloud's inheritance of the Buster Sword, and the death of Zack is one of the best scenes in a Final Fantasy game I have ever seen. To anyone reading this, if you haven't seen that scene, you absolutely should look up that scene from Crisis Core on youtube (/watch?v=2zBfzJSyo6c).
Poor Cloud, those Jenova Cells may have made him stronger then most, but between that and the Mako poisoning it really messed him up mentally. Just like how Steroids are for some Sports players in real life. That stuff can mess you up. I feel sorry for Zack too, he really impacted the story in a big way. If he hadn't of died maybe he could have been a awesome party member similar to Cloud if he could have joined the party.

to get the carob nut go to the chocobo sage's house and encounter a dragon like creature on the grassy area around the house. then steal it from it. however it has a lot of hp, so be ready to use a lot of magic breaths, or beta.
Did you change the controls in the config screen? If you change the controls I believe it messes it up. If so, just revert them back to the original settings.

same thing happened to me. but then i tryed a different combo of chocobos. i battled a few times and then mated one of the chocobos that already mated and mated wth one that didnt mate yet. but i guess you can try that

HCBailly, you don't like it when characters are too customizable? I personally think being able to do that makes certain FF games better than others. Wether is skills, or Job Classes, or both, being able to make each character fight any way you want them to. Final Fantasy 1, the real 2, the real 3, 5, 7, and 8 are incredible because you aren't forced to use certain characters like you are in 4 and 6. And if you are forced, you can make them not awful, on the fly, by making easy edits.
I don't know if anyone's said this already, but the whole Cloud's memory and Jenova/Mako experiments, IS explained in the game (along with other things), but it's in the wrong order in a sense (because Cloud's memory is messed up) so you have to piece it together yourself, which isn't THAT hard providing you pay close attention to the storyline and play more than once - you really don't need the films or anything like that.
Yeah, the characters should be more different, it's boring if you can just turn everyone into whatever you like without any consequences. Oh I was lucky with the chocobo breeding, I ALWAYS got exactly what I needed first try except for a single one that worked on the second try, so that's an awful lot of luck there, but even so the breeding was a real pain in the ass
HCBaily brings the story in a very comedic way, it's rather enjoyable. Also, some of the things he speaks of are easily missed for first-time FF7 players.
I don't see how making a Let's Play of an RPG is really something to complain about. Plus, playing games you don't have on an emulator IS technically illegal, which might not sit well with some people. Plus, HCBailley's comments are hilarious!
But..If you're not here to enjoy the video because you don't find it entertaining, why are you trying to ruin other people's enjoyment?
as far as customization goes, I prefer it where there are no limitations but with varying degrees of difficulty to determine each character's individuality... FF10 is a great example of this
I like the way it was with 5, 6, and 10
4 and 9 were just way too strict
8 was good aswell, as the GFs were all their own style with the characters simply acting as a grouping mechanism
In 8 you can become far too powerful too quickly, and to a point they characters are only defined by their limits. But late game all 6 characters become identical and the power of the regular attacks and limits, far out weigh that of the power of summons and magic.
what I was saying was that the variation is with the GFs where they all have their own abilities. And the characters act as a grouping mechanism for the GFs
I just beat Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and it took one generic Sith to kill one generic Jedi, but five of them couldn't kill a Jedi with plot signifigance.
I agree about the "interchangeable character classes"; that's why I like FF9 and FF4 more than ones like FF12 and FF7. Each character has a narrowly defined set of specialties, and I love that.
I don't like my characters being carbon copies of each other, where the limit breaks are the only thing different about them... that was a problem in FF8 too, though I still like the game despite it. FF10 had a nice system too, because at least all the characters were different until the endgame.
I never saw that flashback... no wonder I never understood the game. Of course, it basically says the exact same things as Last Order does, but with worse animation.
I watched Last Order again last night... such a good short movie. I wish the rest of FF7 was like Last Order.
In Crisis Core it explains Zack's death a little bit better. Instead of two soldiers, it was actually a whole army. Also, instead of Cloud being out in the open, Zack actually hid him so the soldiers wouldn't kill him. He died to protect Cloud essentially.
but why did zack stop when there was only 3 people left? i've played crisis core and wow i had best gear and lvl 99 and i had to leave game on for 3 days to get past that scene.

I don't know if anyone's said this already, but the whole Cloud's memory and Jenova/Mako experiments, IS explained in the game (along with other things), but it's in the wrong order in a sense (because Cloud's memory is messed up) so you have to piece it together yourself, which isn't THAT hard providing you pay close attention to the storyline and play more than once - you really don't need the films or anything like that.

Yeah, the characters should be more different, it's boring if you can just turn everyone into whatever you like without any consequences. Oh I was lucky with the chocobo breeding, I ALWAYS got exactly what I needed first try except for a single one that worked on the second try, so that's an awful lot of luck there, but even so the breeding was a real pain in the ass

Just because YOU enjoy the game doesn't mean it is entertaining to watch.
And there is NOTHING online that could help you aquire or buy this game or help you to play it.
Something that say...could let you buy old videogames online
Or something that could emulate the capibilites of a Playstation 1 and Final Fantasy 7, a emulator of sorts, sadly, I don't think such a thing exists.
But at least this guy isn't one of the assholes who leaves in the grinding bits (I think)

The entertainment value of something is entirely subjective. I find this entertaining, therefore i watch it.
I'd much rather watch someone who knows the game well play through it than spend significantly more time playing through it myself.

HCBaily brings the story in a very comedic way, it's rather enjoyable. Also, some of the things he speaks of are easily missed for first-time FF7 players.

I don't see how making a Let's Play of an RPG is really something to complain about. Plus, playing games you don't have on an emulator IS technically illegal, which might not sit well with some people. Plus, HCBailley's comments are hilarious!
But..If you're not here to enjoy the video because you don't find it entertaining, why are you trying to ruin other people's enjoyment?

as far as customization goes, I prefer it where there are no limitations but with varying degrees of difficulty to determine each character's individuality... FF10 is a great example of this
I like the way it was with 5, 6, and 10
4 and 9 were just way too strict
8 was good aswell, as the GFs were all their own style with the characters simply acting as a grouping mechanism

In 8 you can become far too powerful too quickly, and to a point they characters are only defined by their limits. But late game all 6 characters become identical and the power of the regular attacks and limits, far out weigh that of the power of summons and magic.

what I was saying was that the variation is with the GFs where they all have their own abilities. And the characters act as a grouping mechanism for the GFs

I just beat Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and it took one generic Sith to kill one generic Jedi, but five of them couldn't kill a Jedi with plot signifigance.

I agree about the "interchangeable character classes"; that's why I like FF9 and FF4 more than ones like FF12 and FF7. Each character has a narrowly defined set of specialties, and I love that.
I don't like my characters being carbon copies of each other, where the limit breaks are the only thing different about them... that was a problem in FF8 too, though I still like the game despite it. FF10 had a nice system too, because at least all the characters were different until the endgame.

I never saw that flashback... no wonder I never understood the game. Of course, it basically says the exact same things as Last Order does, but with worse animation.
I watched Last Order again last night... such a good short movie. I wish the rest of FF7 was like Last Order.

In Crisis Core it explains Zack's death a little bit better. Instead of two soldiers, it was actually a whole army. Also, instead of Cloud being out in the open, Zack actually hid him so the soldiers wouldn't kill him. He died to protect Cloud essentially.
