Our Rough Collie Connor - please read description

Connor is such a lovely dog! May I ask you how many times you brush him? I would love to have a Collie of my own, but I know the fur is very high maintenance...

Thankyou :) Connor needs brushing atleast once a week.. and during the weeks before spring that they 'blow' coat, it needs to be every day, within those weeks.

If brushing is not maintained, matting can occur, and usually the only way to get rid of them is to cut the matts out.

This has never happened to Connor, as we keep up his brushing

Aside from the brushing, they are a loyal, faithful, intelligent breed and I would highly recommend for someone who has the time to maintain

If you're going to try and tell me that he is a Border Collie, don't even bother.

If it is a question, no, he is not a Border Collie.

He is a Rough Collie, with a Tri coloured Coat.

They are different from Border Collies in so many different ways.

I would suggest you do some research if you want to challenge me to your incorrect theory.

@XxXFPVXxX man, that was unnecessarily agressive... there's a question mark so it's obviously a question. He/she is probably reffering to the other dog, the black and white one who, to me at least, looks like a border.

To new eagle wings I suppose you think prickd ears are the correct conformation as well. the collies on your youtube page would not show at all well in australia or the uk. Connor by the way has matured into a magnificant dog, with correct movement, bone, expression and ear set.

Any dog can be a show dog with exceptions that the linage is correct with no incorrect breeding, and they are registered for show.

It is a personal preference to what is preferred to be shown.

Markings help, but do not limit the amount of success the dog may have.

Connor is a beautiful dog! I have an Australian Shepherd, In a way they look similar (Just because they have alot of fur)

Hes like a german shepard mix... He found him on the side of the road as a puppy. but hes so cute x3 XDD

Aww :( It's so lucky you saved him!!! :D Just after I was born, my mum and dad had a purebred German shepard, but while trying to get to the dog next door, he tried to jump the fence and accidently hung himself :( :'(

We also used to have a Sable and White Rough collie named Goldie and a Shetland Sheepdog named Holly, but they were euthanized due to old age a couple of years ago :(

He has been shown up from about 2 months (i think) old...

he hasn't been shown in a little while, because he is blowing coat (growing out of his baby coat)

All up he has been to about 5 shows

No, He was prepared for showing at 2 months old, then his first show was at 3 months old.

Here in Australia 3-6 months old is classed as 'baby puppy class'.

Rough Collies are very majestic, and have a feeling of rustic, royalty to them... well, atleast to me! ^^; I would love to have one, but I'm hooked on Border Collies. In fact, ALL collies are beautiful! :)

:( that is sad :( We had another Rough collie before connor named Goldie and we have to get her put down because she got sick at age 11 :( She was a sable (goldena and white)

The other dog in the video is Marley :) She is a 3 yr old purebred Border Collie and shes great :) real character! lol
