At justiceforfathersorg, we believe in equality. We believe that children need both parents in their lives. We also understand and agree that circumstances like child endangerment cases should be handled by the authorities and appropriate measures should be taken to protect the child/children. What we don't believe is that the system should provide unfair processes to remove fathers from their children's lives without cause.

Over the past 10 years, I've seen men ripped to shreds by courts; some justly so & some not so much. My best friend is going through this now. He has twin baby girls w/ his ex-wife w/ a $1,000.00 a month child support order; however, a stipulation in the order reduces said payment depending on how many days a month he has custody...

He agreed to adjust the custody agreement from weekends & every other Wednesday to two weeks out of the month; the right thing to do b/c any self-respecting man doesn't want the mother of their kids wallowing in poverty. As such, the stipulation dictated that the child support payments be reduced by half....
@reggaetonloverbaby Cont'd...He & his ex-wife made contact w/ the court & informed them of the new arrangement. As such, he'd from now on being paying $500.00 instead of the $1,000.00. He got written documentation to reflect said change & a few months passed. All of the sudden a separate arm of the judicial system sent him a nasty gram saying he's behind by $2,500.00. He battle w/ them for months. They suspended his driver's license, contacted his job & threat to put a lien on his house.

The real problem is state laws based on the anitquated "tender years doctrine" presumptions. The U.S. Supreme Court has consistenly ruled that Parental Rights are fundemental and shall remain inviolate. TROXEL v. GRANVILLE - 530 U.S. 57 (2000). ["...they long have been interpreted to have found in 14th Amendment concepts of liberty an independent right of the parent in the "custody, care and nurture of the child," free from state intervention.]
I'm a grandmother of a child who is fatherless because of the family court system. His father is a great dad and his son adored him. I did write to President Obama about this - in response I got a form letter about health care reform.
I would like to see this - guilty until proven innnocent is a very true statement about the family court system.
we can't wait for obama or any president to change this system. we have to go out and fight for it. obama can't even change health care or get a solid jobs bill moving... once those things are solved, he might ( i stress "might") find the time or interest to either back this thing or turn away from it. it'll probably be the latter. again, we have to stand together and change this thing. it's not the presidents job to do it for us.

I understand the frustration many fathers have expressed about the unfairness of custody and child support rulings. I was on the other side of the equation. My father never interacted in my life, except for once when his girlfriend at the time thought we should bond when I was a teen. My mother never sought child support from him. Her reasoning was he would only see that as a punishment against him. If he thought I needed anything he'd volunteer to give it to me. He never did.
My father had custody of my sister and i tell we were a little older and my mother convinced us to move in with her. He still has custody of my two brothers and younger sister..... he is a lucky case.... EQUAL RIGHTS FOR BOTH PARENTS! my daughters dad and i work it out so he can be in her life as much as possible.... even to the point that i paid for him to get his visitation rights and rights through the courts.
Though a man is legally innocent, he will lose his child(ren), eighteen years (18) of income, and over half his stuff, while being ¨awarded¨ marital debt and an Order of Protection, in case, he grows disagreeable to the new arrangement.
The USA has one of the highest divorce rates in a world of about 200 countries. It´s not if you get divorced, it´s when.
Doesn't matter the race, but of every man to speak up. Speak up about their children, and for their children in this State of judicial tyranny. Tyranny which is purposefully bias, with financial incentives by separating an innocent child from a loving, nurturing, and caring parent. The child's very own dad.
Whats most disturbing is Obama spoke on FatherLess Day last year right down the street from the HUGE protests & public gatherings, occurring for several years now, on that same day..telling their stories for youtube uploads, because the "media" buys the deadbeat daddy propoganda myth with absolutely no statistical data or FACTS to prove such a label even exists. I spoke in 2008! I know DEBTORS prison for the alleged "judgement" debt of Interest owed to the state happens all the time tho.
The real deadbeat is the state that separates innocent fathers from their children, and then keeps the fathers away by lack of enforcement of visitation rights while moms move all across the U.S. and engage in relationships with other people. I'm glad people are finally speaking out about this.
