@Sonido007 when you hover the file, you'll have to go into a window and press alt on Win Vista and 7 to get the menu bar. Go to tools>Folder Options. Flip tab to View and scroll to the checked "Hide Extensions of Known File Types" and uncheck it. Apply and Ok. Then delete the ".txt" extension and it should be "Host" when you look at in the Properties. And the File Type should be "File". Hope that helps!

I got this problem with my iPod touch 3rd Gen (32GB) version 4.0.2 because I try downgrading it to the version I use to had before which was version 3.1.3,but I heard that you have to have save the SHSh blobs save for that version which I don't.My dad has the same IPod as me but the old version 3.1.3 but I was wondering if I save the SHSh Blobs from my dad's iPod so I could use it to downgrade my ipod to 3.1.3 The problem is that I don't know if That will work If someone knows something please

Hey to fix the 3914 error, follow the steps to the hosts file and adding "74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com"

I only was able to downgrade back to 4.0, (didn't test 3.1.3...)

and it will work! If it doesn't... Then, sucks for you. Now go make me a sammich

You don't have to do the Window system ting or the 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com thing.... just download the 3.1.3 firmware. Open Itunes, Shift + clcik on restore, choose the firmware and isntall......

I had an iphone 3g in 4.0 and downgraded successfully to 3.1.2 and got it working with calls etc. When I was done with the guide i got into recovery-mode, but I just used redsn0w 0.9.4 to jailbreak it!
