i only eva gave my bird seeeeds, he died after two months and we got him when she was only a egg, i watched her grow up from no feathers to a beautiful all white budgie. now shes dead
How terribly sad to hear that! It's such a shame that good pet owners should have to suffer and watch their babies hurt at all, especially when it really isn't your fault or there's little you can do. At least there's a comfort in knowing you'll make his journey very comfortable for him and provide him with all the love and care he needs that you have always given him. Bless you both!
they look so friendly when they know what you are going to feed them, is that how you feed them? Let them get hungry and give them food instead of having the food in the cage all them time?
omg i absolutely LOVE this video...thts so sad 4 poor pigwideon i hope hes doing alright!! but anyway this video just rlly amazes me i guess...im planning on getting a few budgies myself and i love the way the cage looks it inspires me!! haha!
and my mum was thinking about getting me a budgerigar for my birthday,i think that they're really cute too!! and i was wondering how much are budgerigars?? and if any of you have any experiance in looking after them then pleeease give me some tips!! thanks : D
It's so sad. i know it breaks you're heart and you think about how they feel and how innocent they are. i cried when my canary died and i felt guitly about it for a year. i still do. he was quiet young. the air is not healthy in this house, but i got 3 zebra finches and they had 3 babyes, and in 4 days im selling all of my finches and getting a cockatiel. then im moving, thats my story;] you have a big cage, are u going to buy another budgie after pigwidgeon goes? I'm so sorry abut pigwigdeon ;[
my budgies are never that excited about food, I give fresh food like ever day, try to give them hard boild yolk, fruits, mix seeds with other things. I just wish I could get them to eat healthy
Unfortunately, we can't have it removed. It would be too delicate a process for our dear Pigwidgeon and he probably wouldn't make it through the procedure. The best we can do is to make him comfortable. It breaks my heart.
@stargazrt4. I am so sorry i now how you feel. My grand dad had a african gray that lived up to 75. And we were so said once he left us he was part of our family. i am so sorry i'm a big bird fan and i love all types.
I love how their cage is so brightly decorated with oodles of toys! Breaks my heart seeing a bird in a barren cage. How is Pigwidgeon today? What is his prognosis? Its such a shame, but budgies do seem to be prone to tumours. I wonder if its captivity and poor diet that is a large factor in that? Your lovelies have a good mixed diet, they are fortunate. I wish it was the same for all captive birds!
Pigwidgeon is terminal and the tumor has gotten quite big. He seems to have about half/half good/bad days nowadays. Some of the main factors that contribute to tumors are diet and inbreeding. Many bird farms do not pay attention to the birds inbreeding. That is probably what caused Pigwidgeon's tumor. He was on a bad diet when we got him, which means we had to help him overcome fatty-liver disease (which he has).
We give them their main food in the morning, we do a snack in the afternoon when their food is dust, and then they have pellets at night. We never just leave their bowl out of their cage. They have access to food all day.
Pigwidgeon has cancer? Poor little thing... That's so sad... I hope he doesn't suffer too much... And if it gets to that, you will do the right thing...
Do you take their food dishes out at night??I leave my mickey budgies dish in so he doesn't get like that when i feed him .I was just wondering .He does however get that way when we eat because we give him fresh vegies
It is just something he loves like I thought then. I was just asking .I forgot to say I was so sorry he is not well but he is doing super because you love him so .Thanks for the reply I do wish him well and he is a sweety
So cute! Im always happy to see Pigwidgeon doing well! I know what you mean about the "reply/remove" comment buttons. I have deleted some on accident too. Have a great day!
I'm sorry guys!! I can't believe that I deleted those awesome comments!! I didn't mean to! It's the way they have those buttons moved now; I accidentally punched "remove" instead of reply.
In response to girlygirljune- It sounds like you need to let your budgies settle in. And then you can work on gaining their trust. They have to eat and drink sometime!
Actually, Pigwidgeon came with his name from the person we rescued him from. They are both named after Owls in the Harry Potter series. Thanks for the compliments!
poor birds. i have also budgies and they must have food, everytime !!!!!!!
