  • "Believe me,there is nothing like finding one another when there is music that warms the heart, two hands clasped together one foot senses where the other will step and follows,no matter where the other leads, because one believes that every turn and swing will be like flying from now on."

  • 3:55 to 4:40, the shot, the actors, the quote he says and then the music starts playing again, fantastic

  • Bela Tarr's films always remind me of Brueghel's paintings. Human fallibility.

  • where do i get this song? can't even get the CD

  • WHAT IS THIS SONG?!

  • Hogyan vehetném át ezt a számot a mobilomra csengőhangként?

  • visual poetry

  • Ive always loved 2:08 its like all the movie in only one image

  • @AristYdes

Agreed! What a chilling, melancholic shot that one. I'm completely mesmerized by such images. Very much like what Ceylan does.

  • I bow to thee Mr Tarr

  • one of the best movies I have ever seen.

  • doesn't that music just resonate in you? god I love this movie...

  • does anybody know what this song is, or who it is by?!?! please....

  • the song is by Mihály Víg and is called 'Lassú Tánc' (Slow Dance)

  • No one does shot sequences like him or create worlds and atmospheres of sorrow and sadness, lost hope and broken dreams like the master Béla Tarr.

  • that's just why we all dance...

  • I disagree. To me they're yearning for love and understanding in a bitter inner and outer life. They're lost in the inner mess, decomposition and sadness that Tarr expresses through the sets. They're devoid of expression, not life. Even when dancing they keep secrets, even when they're close there's a huge empty space between them.

I would say that they've lost living for waiting and reaching for drifting. The people are worn down and rough like the world in which they move.

  • People walked out of the theater when i saw this. But I think it's one of the best films ever made.

  • maravilhoso!

  • my favorite scene in the film after the Titanik Bar scene.

  • This is one of my favorite sequences all-time. That might seem questionable, but it's true.

  • You're not the only one its amazing!

  • Everyone in this scene seems like they're dead, or devoid of life, which is more accurate....

  • lets be more precise: this scene's motif is just like taken from Edvard Munch's "The Dance of Life".
