My point was a different one: That the facts have been grossly exaggerated, like in the United States. Many people want to jump up on the bandwagon to get their part of the loot the church is going to fork over.
Each case should and will be investigated. It wasn't "The Church" that did this (if it really did happen in the first place) - it was done by individuals.

Obviously if people are seen claiming they've been abused and they are believed and someone does somethng about it then others see that it is being taken seriously and folow suit.
