lol last 2006 LUMAD BASAKANON lost to CAMIGUIN, but they still join ALIWAN and won the TOP PRIZE, since then sunod2x na ang panalo nila for 3 CONSECUTIVE YEARS as champion. Their choreographer promised to see a totally different LUMAD BASAKANON for ALIWAN and they will scrap their LATEST CONCEPT and COSTUME and conceptualize a better one. CARMEN will also try its best to win the crown this time.. and not only that winners from PASIGARBO SA SUGBO will join ALIWAN as well, so WACTHOUT!
sinulog is more on fine details in dance and pattern while dinagyang is the liveliness and beat... each one have their differences.. comparison is done so that there would be room for improvement not to degrade one another.. stop the fight. we are all filipinos naman eh... we shud be thankful for festivals like these coz it shows our pride towards our provinces, culture and tradition. i Love all the festivals here in Pinas. so unique and so groundbreaking!!!! peace po lahat....

I remember last 2005 during aliwan, The champion was pintados de passi of passi city ILOILO, the 1st runner up was the kahilwayan festival of santa barbara ILOILO and Dinagyang of ILOILO CITY. In fact all of the prizes we're taken by THE PROVINCE OF ILOILO. Try to top that.
In Dinagyang the performance last for at least 7 minutes, it's because Iloilo Warriors has more energy to perform and knows a lot more moves and story to tell compare to SINUNOG that only has 5 minutes of performance time.

After the Aliwan Festival, Dinagyang will be performing in the International Dance Congress in Intramuros, Manila on April 26.
Tribu Paghidaet will also perform at the Festival of the North in Dagupan on April 27.
Dinagyang has also an invitation for to perform during the Independence Day celebration in two cities of the United States of America; New York on June 7 and New Jersey in June 14.

lol last 2006 LUMAD BASAKANON lost to CAMIGUIN, but they still join ALIWAN and won the TOP PRIZE, since then sunod2x na ang panalo nila for 3 CONSECUTIVE YEARS as champion. Their choreographer promised to see a totally different LUMAD BASAKANON for ALIWAN and they will scrap their LATEST CONCEPT and COSTUME and conceptualize a better one. CARMEN will also try its best to win the crown this time.. and not only that winners from PASIGARBO SA SUGBO will join ALIWAN as well, so WACTHOUT!

sinulog is more on fine details in dance and pattern while dinagyang is the liveliness and beat... each one have their differences.. comparison is done so that there would be room for improvement not to degrade one another.. stop the fight. we are all filipinos naman eh... we shud be thankful for festivals like these coz it shows our pride towards our provinces, culture and tradition. i Love all the festivals here in Pinas. so unique and so groundbreaking!!!! peace po lahat....

With its colorful, lively, attractive and most of all, as the best festival in the country. Sino ba yang Edwin Trompeta nyo? I remember last 2005 during aliwan, The champion was pintados de passi of passi city ILOILO, the 1st runner up was the kahilwayan festival of santa barbara ILOILO and Dinagyang of ILOILO CITY. In fact all of the prizes we're taken by THE PROVINCE OF ILOILO. Try to top that.

In Dinagyang the performance last for at least 7 minutes, it's because Iloilo Warriors has more energy to perform and knows a lot more moves and story to tell compare to SINUNOG that only has 5 minutes of performance time.

i think dinagyang is the best festival in the philippines. im from manila and ive been to masskara(bacolod) and sinulog(cebu) but i think dinagyang(iloilo) ranks first? Ay mali pala. sinulog pala kasi sila ang 3 times grandslam hall of famer,world class na sila, second is masskara, both have cultural linkages.. dinagyang is only street dancing to pop musics and parang warshock dancers covered by aspalt and grease nakipag away ng judge pag natalo. ay nakakahiya. dats only my opinion...

maganda ang performance ng mga dancers ng dinagyang. ket sa video co lang nakita to (kasi andito aco sa general santos),napapalatak aco pak nkikita co na ung moves. i really love it. ^cebuano aco, wala acong kinakampihan. =] pansin co lang, laging tga cebu ang nag-uumpisa ng away? haha kahiya-hiya na man yun, tho pansin co talga sa mga cebuano at ndi aco exception dun, "palaaway jud ta". hehe^ .. i've seen the moves from the dancers of sinulog also, maganda rin tho ndi talga ganun ka appealing=]

Complex drumming, tam-tams (the best!), intricate choreography.....the warriors..they start practice as early as june, 6 months before the festival...to give you the most mind blowing festival experience...

When you watch sinulog all you see are the same steps over and over again. The men move like gays...they sway from side to side...sh@t! it looks f@cking gay...and you can't see any creativity in the drums...you hear simple drumming and silly trumpets...sheezz...boooooorrrriinnng....
they make up for that by wearing colorful costumes...but just observe the choreography...not that amazing...won't sweep you off your feet..you'll fall asleep..
