That cunt with the hat, watch him on the fake drop,he skanks out like a bitch before realising hes wrong and wondering what the hells just happened...
Guy is fresh but as others say this ain't djin at all. It's a gimmicky act. Disagree with those who say beatmatching is not the essence of djing. Many don't even understand the structure of music so match beats but get key all wrong!
@hoendy Hes been spinning wayyy before laptops were used.... so im sure he knows how to spin without it. AND Im pretty positive hes got beat structures down.
@lewiscook1991 ... He uses Serato which DOESN'T have a 'sync' button. Traktor however...does have the sync button so I agree with you on that! But I use Serato and got that program on purpose because it doesn't have that feature.
Its exhibition dj-ing, which is a amazing to watch but if this was in a club you'd be seriously pissed off without hearing more than a single verse or chorus of your fave songs. But hey, thats not what he does, he's an exhibition DJ and one of the best at it and i love him...just its not proper dj-ing, its all a computer.
@beminchin no way! i wwnt to see him last night and its the best bits from the songs so its just non stop partyign and he got the computer as he using vinyls so he must have to carry like 400 records :/ x
@lewiscook1991 i really dont mean to be patronising, but he uses something like traktor or serato, a computer program which operates through specially made vinyls. It means u never have to change your vinyl/disk as it reads it from the computer. Type 'traktor scratch' into youtube and you'll see wat i mean. Digital DJ-ing is great as it makes using effects so much easier but it has a 'sync' button which automatically beat matches songs aaaand its just my opinion but i think its kinda cheating :(
@MageAtYou i guess we all have opinions. I'd say he's a chop and changer, whereas people like deadmau5 and Van Burrin are more mixers who really treat dj-ing as an art form. Its fact that computers will one day kill off the need for DJs. The new native instruments dj controller describes its ability to beatmatch automatically as 'taking the pain out of time-consuming beatmatching'...Beatmatching is a skill to be practised and mastered but soon a computer will be able to mix a playlist for a club
@beminchin Isn't mau5 just a progressive.house poser? Anyway, every time you read a forumthread about CDJ the vinyl guys get upset about sync-buttons, but isnt there much much more about DJing? Where do they draw the line? Vinyl with sync, CDJ without sync?
@MageAtYou well i guess the guy who first invented fire was pure raging when the lighter got invented. Whilst technology is great for opening DJ-ing up to a bigger audience its also heading towards a fully automated system. When club owners discover they can pay £200 for a program that DJs for them why would they bother shelling out £120 a night to a DJ. I guess if you're a club owner that's a great thing and tbh would your average clubber care if the music was being played manually? I think not
@beminchin It looks like you're stating the problem being a dumb audience and cheap club owners. There are many clubs where the audience care much for who the DJ is.
Regardless of equipment, a DJ that plays good tunes and gets the crowd going is the most valuable.
Is the problem still that he does not beatmatch? I can't accept that being the ONLY reason.
I do not think real DJs (love for the music) does what automatic mixing, I would think it remove all the fun of the creating process.
@MageAtYou I would disagree. When people go out they care about drinking, having a laugh and dancing about to anything. Being a club DJ i've seen a decline in the number and variety of acts booked and my wage has declined. It not just beatmatching, its that most stuff is pre-planned and cued, rather than spontaniously brought into the mix by judging the crowd. But I still think few people care these days, so long as they hear the top 20 and the usual classics, Something a computer cud do.
@beminchin I don't you know anything about clubs and DJs except for the mainstream "rihanna-house remix by SHM & Guetta" clubs. Do you live in London?, visit Fabriclive.
@MageAtYou haha funny. I do know a lot about other clubs, I've played in Dubai, Paris and randomly Sri Lanka but Fabric is a bit of an 'art student'/the dickhead song, club. My only point is that by using computers DJs are kinda shooting themselves in the foot as the technology will continue to get better until there is no need for a person to manually mix a playlist. As for jaguar skills, I think he is great, just I personally wouldnt say he is the 'best DJ ever'.
@beminchin yeahh you definitely don't grasp the importance of a DJ man. Yeah computers are getting to the point of being able to play a mix, but they cannot judge a crowd. Only way you can automate a comptuer to judge a crowd is to have it scan every person that walks in and get their ethnicity and culture background.
@OfficialDJGarebear Or it can have playlists based on different genres and its just up to the bar manager to change that. And Jaguar Skills in this video didn't judge the crowd well, they're going mental cos they're wasted, about 50% of the above video is 'build up' which you just stand about to. Put any experienced DJ on a stage at a festival and people will go crazy. Anyhow, I digress soz. I stick by my point that computers will eventually kill off local club and bar DJs in 4-5 years time.
@beminchin bar DJs yeah lol most likely they will be kicked out. But clubs, I can't see that happening for a long time, and festival DJs are there to stay
@beminchin Besides that though DJs bring in numbers AND your entire point about beatmatching as an art is a little off man. In the DJing world you learn how to beatmatch first then you learn how to scratch. In other words beatmatching are the training wheels. Especially nowadays with HUDs it's not hard at all to beatmatch. The guys you mentioned are not known for their incredible beatmatching lol, they are known for producing tracks...as long as DJs are producing they will not be replaced
from an x dj think your find that nearly all of this is done on a lap top as not once do i see a new record go on the decks through whole 7 mins so do feel the decks are just for show and a little bit of scratching! But hey thats the way dj'ing has gone now all on lap top in bedroom is a shame but true!!
@cj3275 as i said in my post there is no art to it anymore! But i soppose thats how things advance computers does so much more and does it sound great and keeps the punters happy! Good luck to him!!
@rylze No... NOT all done on the computer. A whole lot of mixing. I was watching over his shoulder for a recent student union gig he did, and his fingers were on fire. He did use a computer yes, but not all on a computer by a long shot.

As soon as computers can think that way... there not be any need for human thinking^^
And there is no way to do this with vinyl...
Djed with vinyl and without... you cant sample like this with vinyl...
You will need Midi devices!

@beminchin You did not quite understand why clubowners book DJs...
They book em for being able to write the DJs name onto the flyer so the people knowing this DJ will prefer this club to others...
