While your at it GOOGLE/YOUTUBE "Veteran's against John McCain" & take a look at some on the video's in old Senate hearings with the family's of POW's...he was not even close to warm & fuzzy to that group....hmmm...those wascaly wabbits wanted the POW & MIA records for all unsealed and made available...did McCan't..not so much. RON PAUL REVOLUTION 2008****
John McCan't could not possibly be a bigger poser! Maverick..Hero...pshaw..the Vietnamese nicknamed him songbird because he spilled his guts..was never tortured..and, he did "choose" not to leave his men behind but only because of his political aspirations which would have been drowned had he left early. He wasn't being tortured because of his cooperation with the VN so it was worth it to him to bite the bullet on the additional time.....
The Nevada State Republican Convention voted today and all nine(9) delegates for the national convention who won are Ron Paul supporters....however, before the official anouncement, the chairman called for recess and the McCain crowd were being told to leave thus the quorum was broken and the meeting could not reconvene. Ron Paul was our Keynote speaker earilier in the day, but had to catch a flight to continue the mission to save our country, McCain did not show.
John McCain should be in Jail - Keating Five? BCCI? McCain isn't fit to be dog catcher, don't forget to write the Federal Election Commission and ask them to investigate McCain's dodgy financing! All Your Delegates are Belong to Us, McCain! GO RON PAUL!
Shut up about Ron Paul. I'm from Texas, he's a congressman here and none of the other Republicans even like him. McCain has more than enough delegates and he's won the nomination. You really need to move on!
This is a misperception, the terrorists HAVE won and ARE winning because of our presence in Iraq. Al Qaeda (the group who attacked us on 9/11) is stronger now than any time since 9/11 2001. Terrorist organizations in the Middle East have become more powerful and have greater support now than ever.
The main thing that has changed is our war in Iraq; we have been fighting in the wrong country...
... Those tied to Al Qaeda are only 2% of the people we've fought in this war, the other 98% are civilians caught in the crossfire (Iraq gangs, Iraqis patriotic for their own country, people killed by Blackwater).
Every day we fight in the wrong country and allow Al Qaeda to choose their battles from bases afar (in Afghanistan and Pakistan)...
... is another day they will have better training, another day for them to claim a propaganda victory, and another day for them to send people out to attack the United States from their Al Qaeda safe heavens.
We are not becoming safer because of our war in Iraq; we are becoming less secure, bleeding our coffers and international support dry and making terrorist organizations stronger when they can point out the window at the reason why someone should risk their life to seek revenge.
The only people who support war are those who have never been in one. McCain doesn't support war, in Iraq or elsewhere. Not one bit. Find some vets in your local community - from WWII, Vietnam, Iraq, Korea, or the Persian Gulf - and ask them if they love war and want to go back. Or start new ones. You'll get a unanimous answer of no.
If we just left now, all the progress would be un-done and the terrorists would win. Then we would have to go back and fight them all over again and they would be even stronger. You say generals and soldiers have said we can't win? I think those opinions are in the far minority. Every job is going to have disgruntled employees, the military isn't that different. Just let them do their job and the President do what he feels is best. Whether it is Bush right now or McCain next year.
John McCain will win the general election! Obama is strong in the wrong states and about half of democrates hate Clinton. McCain will win unless he dies.
John McCain may be a fine Senator and his service in Vietnam is commendable. I still do not believe he would be the best president for our country, at least with the current situation we are in (economically, militarily, diplomatically). He is probably a great person, still not my choice for president.
(sorry for the long response and comment barrage but 500 characters says nearly nothing)
"But at least he's a veteran and has first hand experience about the horrors of war and what evil man is capable of."
Yes, so he has experience waging war. The situation in Iraq is not a conventional war, it is a war that many (even Generals and those fighting the war) state we cannot win militarily.
If we cannot win the Iraq war militarily his experience fighting in Vietnam would be the "wrong experience".
Gondeath, unless you've been to Iraq yourself or have military members in your family serving over there, you really can't be in a position to judge. My father and boyfriend are both in the Army and have both deployed to Iraq, my BF is there as we speak. They are supporting McCain along with everyone else in my family. Things have gotten a lot better in many areas in Iraq and it's the right thing to do by staying and finishing the job.
"Gondeath... you just want a democratic president just because you think that they are so-called "smart"
No, currently I want a democrat as president because I do not want a 3rd term for Bush's policies. I don't want someone who says they will always hate the gooks (foreigners). I don't feel a war-minded figure is the best person to get us out of Iraq.
But at least he's a veteran and has first hand experience about the horrors of war and what evil man is capable of. He was tortured as a P.O.W. in Vietnam. What policies will he be continuing? Keeping troops in Iraq and no child left behind? Maybe those are not great, but to say it will be another Bush administration is unfair and sounds like partisan rhetoric. Also, it's rude to call someone "war-minded" without an in depth psychological analysis or a definite idea of his voting record.
"What policies will he be continuing? Keeping troops in Iraq... Maybe those are not great, but to say it will be another Bush administration is unfair"
4,000 dead soldiers in Iraq, 150,000+ dead Iraqis, hundreds of billions of OUR tax money going to a war that has failed miserably, the horrible handling of Hurricane Katrina, our attention in the war on terror being distracted from Afghanistan and the 9/11 attacks are not fair.
We're not living in a fantasy world. Killing hundreds of thousands of people in their own country and holding off two sides of a civil war will not breed peace and joy from those who have their country occupied by a vastly different culture.
--
"Also, it's rude to call someone "war-minded" without an in depth psychological analysis or a definite idea of his voting record."
War-mindedness has nothing to do with a voting record. McCain has long said we should bomb more to end wars faster.
none, because he is not like Clinton or Obama that uses movie starts or singers just to show off in their campaign to make them look good however they are both retarded and have no way of saying the economy in the future or help with anything else would be worse.
Jesse Jackson and Reverend Al Sharpton ran on the issue of race, Obama did not want to follow in their footsteps that alienated white, Latino, Asian and other demographics of voters.
Instead of focusing on that which divides us, race, Obama tries to focus on that which unites us, our common goals (the American Dream).
McCain is not running on race, he is ignoring it for the most part (rarely mentioning that he is white and that Obama is Black). It does not mean he does not address it when it comes up (chastising people who introduce him by attacking Obama), but he is not focused on race.
One last thing, free speech is not boundless (oooh scary). It is easy to say free speech is being violated when it truly is not. It's a good scare tactic.
If you go downtown (or into the city) you will see the "free speech" of gangs in murals on city streets. Graffiti is a form of free speech that is not allowed when it damages another person's property.

That's why McCain is a terrorist when he doesn't wear that magic pin. Reagan and Lincoln never wore flag pins; they're both terrorists to the core.
If someone rams a jet airliner into the Sears Tower with a (US) flag lapel pin on they will be saluted as a fallen US patriot.

81% say the US going in wrong direction; this is far from a minority. McCain does not support our troops more than Obama or Clinton.
- McCain won't support the GI bill for Iraqi veterans
- McCain wants to stay in Iraq for 100 years
- On at least 10 occasions, McCain voted against arming and equipping the troops
- McCain voted against providing adequate rest for the troops between deployments
- McCain voted against health care or other benefits for veterans

John McCain has only (very) recently said that Bush's handling of Hurricane Katrina was poor.
He states (in regards to the Iraq War):
"I don't think Americans are concerned if we're there for 100 years or 1,000 years or 10,000 years."
"if Americans are there in a support role, but they're not taking casualties, that's fine"

Have you seen his speech on race "A More Perfect Union" after the Wright situation?
He does not ignore race; the person who runs Obama's channel ignores racist comments (by not posting them).
You can have free speech but that does not mean everyone has to repeat it, even a Presidential candidate.
Sometimes you have to let comments roll off you and be the bigger man.
