Fell in love with this song today. It was on a Christmas CD at work, so I snuck it on repeat while no one was looking. 3 hours of this song. It's simply beautiful
Just before a memorial concert for my mother, I asked my jazz pianist, Walter Bankovitch, who was otherwise just accompanying, if he'd like to do a solo. Knowing that my mother, Jean Zwickel, devoted nearly her entire 93 years to working for peace and social justice, his choice was a no-brainier.
What he didn't know was that the license plate on my silver Camry spells HRC SLVR. (Who's the Lone Ranger's favorite jazz musician?)
@lionaish I don't really see how it can have been recorded for that album though, because this exact track has already been on Jones' 2000 "first sessions" EP. It seems the piano is being played by Jones herself.
@lionaish This is probably not the Piano Jazz version. It's on one of her albums I would think, probably and EP.
I know that Norah Jones has gone on Piano jazz at least twice. Once is on an outdoor concert and the other is a studio session which is earlier.
You should listen to the studio version on Marian Mcpartland piano jazz. It sounds really good, and in my opinion much better than this version. But its pretty hard to get a link since NPR's site streams only the concert ver now.

I love books, but it's challenging to get the right books to the right people.
Those who love peace read peace books.
Those who love war read war books.
Those who love conspiracy theories read conspiracy books.
Those who love to escape read Harlequin Romances.
So people stay in their own corners, reinforcing what they know, and never knowing how much they really don't know.
But music, blessed music, crosses boundaries, flies over walls, and offers its message powerfully to all, with open arms.

Norah, very sweet.
Peace appears on the album First Sessions.
