@DaBlindKungFuMastuh it doesn't. No animal is a heartless killing machine. They all have their reasons behind attacking people, whether it's someone provoking them, being pushed past their limits, or trying to protect themselves or their babies. Just because you don't UNDERSTAND the reason or don't immediately see it, doesn't mean it doesn't have one.
@MrJalesi no animal is a heartless killing machine lol listen to yourself. so out of the 1000000000 animals NONE are heartless killing machines...ok....get your facts straight
What a happy bear. I wish a playful bear like that had another cub to play with. Adorable little thing...and hearing the human "cubs" laughing to watch him play was heartwarming too. He plays like human kids do, except with claws.
Whether he can be returned to the wild (which I hope will happen) or stay in care, he has as much right to life as any one of us. As for 'playing God' the human species began to do this many thousands of years ago. We now have a responsibility to clear up the mess we have made and that includes rescuing wild creatures and preserving species.
I do not find this mean to the polar bear it is giving it another chance at life, it would have died in the wild if not for these poeple. It looks rather happy it has alot of toys and seems to be in top health and the area is quite big its not like its stuck in a little cage where it can't move or anything.
It is nice to see that he is doing fine and happy. It may be sad to see him in a cage. However once when the bear mother rejects a baby that babie's survival rate alone without human support is next to impossible. So I am convinced that this polar baby will have aharmless and a happy future. More over the zoo keepers will give him love and care. May he be protected from all the dangers and should be happy.
@kshin121685 True, but I think they rescued the baby polarbear, and it would most likely get killed in the wild. Maybe theyre waiting till he gets bigger to release him? Know what I mean?
Also check out the US Fish and Wildlife Service's Facebook page under USFWS Alaska. Look for the recent post that says 'Little white bundle of fun.' I have talked with a couple of our polar bear biologists and they have notice some interesting things about her behavior, things they thought were learned, but are apparently instinct. She's a little spitfire, but cute as anything!
OH thank you so much for this. IT sure made my day a lot better after a hard day on the job.. I enjoy all her jumping. and playing . I hope to be the first in line to see her when she goes to kentucky.. Alaska is too far from Michigan.. but Lousieville is only about 5 hours away . she is a joy to watch.. THESE VIDEOS are great!! thank you thank you thank you !!

It's really cute. But why is a polar bear in a dirty, dirty play area?

even if they did "rescue" it, if the bear is rejected by its mother, then that's how nature intended it. We have no right to jump in and play god.
