Don't think that it's worth bothering with Marshalls at this price range. If you want a good Marshall, it'll have to be an expensive all-tube machine. At any rate, judging by this vid, the HV100 is pretty damn impressive and should cover your range of music perfectly.

no, the defender is a 50 watt ALL TUBE AMP, this is the kustom HV (high voltage) amp.

Could you tell me where are all the sockets (footswitch, speaker etc.) placed on this amp. I've viewed all the photos of this amp on the net and I see only the black metal tag with description of them and no sockets.

They are on the chasis on the right below the tube window. You have to reach underneath. Plus they are not labeled. You have to look at the diagram on the to the left or in the manual. Other than that oddity, it is a very nice amp for the price. I love mine.

Thanks, mate. The amp has arrived last monday. I found the sockets on the spot. But I was curious where they are before it came to me. I totally agree with You. it's even better that some more expensive ones. Today I've plugged my Digitech GRUNGE pedal to input and ran it on max volume. What a power! Even on max it sounded very good and not harsh. In addidion tube preamp gives a lot of dynamics to the sound of plugged pedals and makes the tone smoother.

I should add that clean sounds are awesome. The preamp modes and eq are very efficient and they make amp amazingly flexible. This amp looks like the real thing and not like a toy. Very good design and it graces my room.

Have you changed the 12ax7 tube from the preamp to a better one? I'd like to try one from EHX or Mesa. What do you think?
