This is my all time favorite song. Some years back, I went on a search for this CD (before youtube and sharing sites were available), and I finally found it--played it over and over. This song takes me back to my freshman year in high school and my first love.
Hey!! I miss you guys! Me and my cousin used to hang with yall! Been lookin for this, it was my favorite song of yours! I hope all is well with you all.
No videos? Man, I was tryin to find the So What video. Didn't they have a video for Call Me Up which was an alternate version of the track? This album was sick. Always hoped for a follow-up. Jimmy & Kirk's beats were bangin!
I remember the video for "So What" back in 1992. I only caught the tail end of the video for "..Conscience". I haven't seen the "Call Me Up" video at all. I don't know what happened to these cats. These dudes were dope!! This song right here? Man, "quiet storm" on another level!! I remember parties where the DJ threw this one on and turned off the lights. Damn, I was a teen then. Them were the days!!
The lead singer of the group Chae'(and also lead on this single)is a good friend of mine from way back back. I spoke with him a couple of years back and he is still doing music mostly behind the scenes. His voice is even better than back then. Y'all be on the look out for him. I have a video of this cat singing that I recorded when he came down to VA (when his grandmother passed). He is a true vocalist to his heart. I still listen to II Close's cd "More To A Man"
The correct title spelling is supposed to be "My Conscience Says No". The title here is, "My Consious Says No". I tried to search it to pull it back up and couldn't find it, I just realized that spelling is why. Trying 2 link it to a myspace page. :)
Yes, kakarat1369, u ain't lying, I seen them perform it and they were good, but they were slept on, fo' sho. This used to be my sh**! The video didn't justify them singing it live, I have both on VHS, somewhere.
Hell yeah! This was one of my favoite songs! The song was released in 1993 but the album was released in 1992 with the song "So What" being the lead single. I've never gotten to see the video. Only the title & info as it was fading out when I was in Nashville. This song was DEFINITELY one of the most slept on songs of that year along with Nona Gaye's "The Things We All Do For Love"
...While everybody was trying to vocalize on If I Ever Fall in Love, singing on II Close was quite against the grain. I remember doing propaganda on My Conscience Says No in school, but at the time, Shai et Boyz II Men where ruling hard!
