  • I love trains <3 (:

  • Title and song makes me think of Native Americans for some reason.

  • It sounds like it has kinda voice samples from the old Bitmap Brothers game Gods, early Atari ST/Amiga game?

  • This reminds me of Half-Life 2.

  • boards of canada are pretty sad memories

  • One of the best pieces of music ever. Simple as that.

  • felicidades los visuales son muy buenos.

  • i think i like pete standing alone better than with people he cant trust

  • I wish I could find the london sinfonietta version

  • i can't believe this video only has 3 dislikes, just makes me think more and more about how amazing this band is :D

  • @TheDsmiter they've actually been working on an album or more since '06. bocpages and the twoism message boards would help you confirm this.

  • darkest tune on music~~~~children i think

  • @TheDsmiter They quit? :o they died? :o what happend? (or are you just joking around? ^^)

  • coolest duo on the planet musics sublime :)

  • were these guys ever on tour ?

  • The two people who clicked "dislike" ought to be ashamed of themselves. Wonderful music and a brilliant video to accompany it.

  • I don't mean to be that guy, but this song and video is like what smoking weed did for me.

  • @1jeans

You're not that guy. Don't worry. You're you, I promise.

  • my favourite thing to do for the last year has been to mong out and listen to boc whether high or not....love em

  • i stopped listening to BoC for like 6 months because i thought i was going crazy but fuck im relapsing

  • It's Aphex Twin!!!

  • @dmarcs2k aphex twin are not quite on this wavelength i believe

  • i just found myself coming back into awareness, i just went into a perfectly still trance and what was in front of me just disappeared.

  • please mtv, never put a boards song in one of your stupid shows. i don't think my heart can stand seeing "skins <3" on another one of my favorite songs.

  • @sunsetsburningbright Yep felt the same on the show when they put Portishead's Machine Gun on there.. however, that was when Skins was still a decent show.

  • If a picture is worth a thousand words, you could write a novel with the picture any single Boards of Canada track puts in your head.

  • @jdoggybizzle very true, their music is incredibly evocative

  • Will no one stand next to Pete? People People, We have got to get along, it's more gooder. Yesterday I goad to the Liberry and looked in the music section for BoC. They didn't have it. I stood a loan and cried

  • @Locust1313 lol

  • 5 seconds in and just 3 notes of this track I knew it was going to be brilliant.

  • @21stcenturyphantom Too right mate. Glad BOC are kept more 'underground' as listening to music like this defines who I am from the crowd.

  • @dunning1977 Definitely, I completely agree. Although even if they did get 'mainstream success' I doubt BOC would be the sort of people that would just sell out to the masses. I wish they'd release some new material though!

  • so good....just so fucking good

  • Not made for words, for words cannot express how much BoC fans love this music and how much BoC rules in general.

  • i see a robot ballet when i hear this or ballet chicks doing the robot. yeah!

  • @baybuh haha. you rule.

  • This song shows that at times the album, while inherently ambient music actually borders on IDM and the breakbeat of Aphex Twin. While I don't like the word IDM it is good to use as an overview for the early 90's phenomen. The early 90's had the greatest influx of music since the 70's. Great times that make me wish I was there.

  • @annib00 My children do too =)

  • I have this set to my alarm every morning. It's undeniably perfect.

  • Nice work! Keep at it!

  • play it loud, Fidzels.

  • if there's one thing we should know about most artist, is that there is always another group or musician that sounds just like them...

  • @COALslaw All right, all right, we don't want to start anything. They're both good artists.

  • YES

  • sounds like aphex twin

  • aye,standing alone,yorkshire pete

  • I'm not sure how to describe it but the downbeat 4/4 clicking background noise alternating with the upbeat 4/4 clicking noise just completes my world.

  • Good stuff. Great translation of the music to images.

  • Dont watch the video , look elsewhere and listen , its much more effective .

  • I'd give up my right nut for a new album of theirs

  • BoC is the most potent audio hit you can take, its hefty stuff

  • it reminds me.....Dave Darell - Children ( Club Radio Edit)/but this is way more epic

  • this video made me smile

  • Goede vraag :) (Good question)

I think, and I don't mean to act elitary or something, people who have a good ear for music, or at least this kind of music. People who realy feel it. Non-standard if you want... The ones that like to look further into the art of music, broader than pop, and found BoC.

Their music has made the most impact on me than any other music has. When I listen it's always an adventure. Into one's self, or other places. Lol, trippy. I don't do drugs btw.

    Peace.

  • True, I listen to crazy experimental progressive rock, smoothe atmospheric DnB, trip hop, acid jazz.. etc

I guess always listening to music outside of the popular genres and having an unquenchable thirst for trippy music is what lead me to BoC.

I only started listening to them yesterday

  • I need music that does more than just move your body

  • Just bought Music Has The Right To Children!

My personal view is that there is no lyrics here :)

Boards Of Canada, I raise my glass to you! As I do also to all people out there who appreciate their works!

  • @HoopSquare Cheers ma ninja! raising a spliff to your good self as I type :) check out "Corc" and "Rae" by autechre also, u won't be disappointed, both tracks r in similiar vein to this one

  • @HoopSquare

Good vibes, thanks. Or should I say SLAYER, for anyone who knows the reference.

  • i always think olson and this track are the perfect combo

  • besides this song sounds like a running river to me... it would make sence

  • The voice is saying, "water."

The voice is saying, "water is."

  • @birthnight thats what i thought

  • seriously? that's cool :)

  • I thought it was saying "worms" or "warm"

  • awesome..

  • yes

  • Nice Maz

  • No.

  • maybe

  • one of my top three tracks of all time along with "Yellow Calx" by Aphex Twin and "Corc" by Autechre, evocative, simple innocent...

  • @maccrimbo I couldn't agree more with that selection. Simply good music, and thats good in the best possible way.

  • epic video, one the absolute best from boc.. these guys are the world's best kept secret..best believe.

  • hey what is all the talk about the secret weapon of this songs? I want to know :( everybody keeps saying they have a secret for their music I want to know it.

  • Just came back from the pub and was surprised that no one mentioned that they [BoC] have a secret for their music. Actually no one even mentioned BoC. And even if they did what kind of impact do u think it may have on your life compared to that of the retards in Parliament?

  • Huh? I don't get it lol still confused is it like some kind of melody they use to hypnotize us? well atleast not me somehow I figured that most of the pips that listen to this type of music use it wo get high lol so I stopped listening to this. XD but yeah still in confusion.

  • @portalsounds wish I could give your comment two thumbs up dude :)

  • @portalsounds Amen.

  • getten this cd for sure

  • @chree2008 definitely their best album, geogaddi is more trippy but worth buying also

  • Awesome band ! and vid

  • the distorted vocal sample is saying "bonds". it's a reference to the national film board of canada which made movies about a Blood indian named Pete Standing Alone

  • Thank you.

  • I totally think the vocoded sound is saying "volume" or something that sounds very similar, and i'm listening to this on a very very very expensive sound system.

It sounds like "orange", but i'd say its actually "violence".

    hmmm

  • I can't stress enough how much I love Boards of Canada

  • @TEKM0SIS :D

  • @TEKM0SIS Join the club

  • @TEKM0SIS you could, but sadly no one would care

  • I cant stress enough how much I love Boards of Canada. The feeling there song invokes, the nostalgia feeling. love all of it.

  • i always thought he was saying walrus. boc has some strange one word phrases

  • Scotland is the architypally perfect location to breed this kind of music. Transcendental indeed.

  • I agree! I love Scotland

  • Never got there but probaly!, Its not a Question of theire name, because I know they are scotland, but I feel some root about Canada's landscape too.

  • They did live in canada for about a year in their childhood.

  • trascendentale!!

    opinion about song : positive

  • This isn't the London Sinfonietta collab, is it?

Considering that one was done five or six years after this song was released on album.

  • The chord progression reminds me strangely of the old 'Miami Vice' theme :-)

  • Great video on BOC!!!!

    *_*

  • Oh man from 3:25 to 4:25 is one of the best minutes of all music

  • Pushes all your right buttons eah!?

    Know what ya mean.

  • I have a seven minute loop of that part... I love it so much.

  • Agreed 100%!

  • I've always thought the voice was saying 'one'. Seems more appropriate to the song title anyway.

  • the cymatics of memory mapping....

  • If it is a word that is said it's more like 'Volume'. Definately not 'orange'. For one thing, they used 'orange' on 'Aquarius' I think it's more likely that the voice is an indistinguishable syllable that just worked with the tune! Beautiful tune though, one of their very best. Saw them live twice, best two gigs i've been to!!

  • is it official video?

  • I must say first time I heard it I thought he said "volume", but I guess I will have to go with the majority.... Great track though, love the messed up sample and distortion

  • i can picture sum1 doing a cross country to this

btw why do you wanna no what its saying, it sounds kl but who cares

but i do think he says orange

  • thankyou amen. i could care less what is said.i dont think the meaning of this is in the words

  • I'd have to agree w/samberini, ORANGE!!!

  • orange

  • naranja...

  • Anyone know what the voice is saying in this track ??

  • The voice is saying "bonds".

  • Fantastic

  • doc pure class

  • Turntablelab fav.

  • Nice

  • Great video. Love the tone and texture of this piece.

Check out my BoC cover. :)

  • simply beautiful... thanks for sharing:)

  • aesthetic and esthetic are estentially the same thing...dick.

  • :'(

  • fuckin lolercoaster, XD

  • yeah....I think the word you were looking for was "aesthetic," buddy.

  • Not bad. The track is a typically good mellow BoC tune, and the visuals are esthetic enuff.
