free movies websites! Yes new movies but why doesn't the US mess with Google? of course cuz it produces money in part for benefits of us goverment so they mess with a kid from England, fking pigs!
Wow I'm almost in knots laughing at the fags taking the moral high ground on this. Tens of MILLIONS of people worldwide do this every hour, every day. These idiot yanks still think policing the internet is going to work. It's NOT. Face it already, it's not having any effect on people like me who download. These greedy corporate cunts just have to move with the times, and accept file sharing is here to stay. I'm downloading as we speak even. Only in the US would they waste tax money on this farce
Setting up a specialised search engine, which is what this guys site was, is no more illegal than any other search engine. Doesn't Google allow advertisements targeted at it's users, based on their country of residence? Of course it does. So why are they not being pursued by the US?
The fact the US does not need to show 'probable cause' that the pursued person has committed the offence but that the UK does is what makes the treaty unfair.
I give most of my music away for free under a creative commons license for non commercial use. I am happy that people want to download my music and share it. I love how people think that the american government and American people are the same thing, then they go and say that "americans are dumb" well what does that say about you? Generalizing a whole nation because of something stupid that our government does.
I hate the US government because I truly believe that there is nothing but evil about it. America is run by greed and evil, sad to say. Hopefully I will be moving out of this shitty country soon. I'm done being a slave.
Yeah. I love america. It's fucking amazing. Why? Because our government is fucking STUPID. SO stupid that it's hilarious. I just hope that people in other countries realize that us normal SANE US citizens hate our country just as much as they do. Don't bunch us together with our government, please. u u
...so.. basically we have to petition for something that's already been written to protect our freedom speech? Something thats been there for decades...
wtf?
"Hey guys were just gonna ignore the Bill of Rights.. is that cool?"
@MusicTewns That's what the civilians here are saying. The People don't want this but the government is being stupid again. Did you hear that we now consider pizza a vegetable? *facepalm*
The U.S. government is really going way too far. We are heading into 1984 territory people.
This "act" that the U.S. wants to pass has to be unconstitutional. It is poorly written and way to broad. Chances are we are all going to be taken down by it. Even this website might be in trouble.
@Knowledgeseeker EVERYTHING is in trouble if it passes. Things like Amazon and Best Buy websites can even be taken down because the wording is so loosely written. YouTube, Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter and anything else you get enjoyment out of will be taken down, if not blocked (even though it's easy to get around censors since some of my friends in China do it all the time).
@tazzy186 I know right. This is insane. This whole broadly/poorly written document should be unconstitutional, but it seems like our government's morals have decayed even more so than before. If this isn't stopped, we will be heading into 1984 territory. Not to mention, we shouldn't have to find ways around these so called "censors." They shouldn't exist in the first place not to mention it will only take one slip-up in a case like that to cause huge problems.
BUUUUULLL SHIT! EVERYONE HAS WEBSITES LIKE THAT! HELL EVEN I HAD ONE AT ONCE IN PICZO.. YOU DONT SEE ME BEING TRIALED.. wow usa you suck. I've Lived in you all my years and you throw this shit.. just wow.
This makes me hate our justice system in the states.
It's a total bullshit move.
If they want to be able to try foreign citizens in our courts, then they need to have some kind of agreement with that country on a particular law.. but they couldn't get that. They couldn't get England to share the same copyright laws.
So now my country wants him for trial in our courts?"
No, we don't have that right, and we never should.
You can't just say that I'll just move somewhere else. The United States is often seen as a big brother in law. As in, when it makes policies and laws around things they see as unlawful, many other countries follow suit and pass similar laws. In effect, this could create a worldwide Internet blackout.
You are stupid for making this bill. Its the most unnecessary thing right now! Im sure your not worried about the economy, of the hungry, the homeless, the ill..... Im sure your'e on your Twitters tweeting about this right now. Get a life.
Fuck off, stupid ass government and grow the hell up. This is the GODDAMN INTERNET. You bastards call this a free country, but you control the things we WANT to do! Who even cares about this British Kid? He wasn't gaining a fucking fortune by providing free links to movie links.. god.. wow. I can't even think.. there is so any reasons this is a horrible idea.
This is obviously not relevant, but please take the time to read this, there is also a video. It is about how our government is trying to pass a law that could take down major sites like Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Youtube, or anywhere where somebody can express themselves freely, changing the internet forever. americancensorship . org , delete the space. It's time to wake up, America is slowly taking our rights away. SPREAD THE WORD. #FuckTheGovernment, speak up for what's right.
@reallyarienne96 Actually, It will effect Canada as well. We have websites that they use frequently. so yeah... Even In Canada you won't have Facebook, Youtube, Tumblr...etc.
@Kinoguari187 KEEP TALKIN, JUST KEEP TALKIN, we dont waste our time and get into shit like middle eastern wars! DONT BE MAD CAUSE U KNOW U WANNA LIVE HERE!
@Indestructible229 Bad news btw. Some U.S. department owns all websites with the .com .net and .org ending. Essentially they will have international jurisdiction over the internet. :/ Also you cant drive lol.
It's run by corporations & selfish officials looking for their own gains in money, ideas, or power. They could care less about the individual or anything that's in their way of getting what they want.
Sad. I'm 19 and I could do a better job running my country. :/ (Maybe they should pass a bill lowering the age for running for office? 16 years to wait is a bit long--America might not exist by then... Pfffffftt.)
I'm a teenager. I'm an American. Long before I was a teenager however... I had already developed my own opinions of my government which has yet to change since first considering it. I too am absolutely EMBARRASSED to call myself American. I'm sorry but this crosses the line when you go as far take away our rights as granted by the first amendment. Land of the Free? More like Land of the _____ oh wait. i'm not free to my own opinion. BS.
Do you know why our country, America WANTS him? Its because the country gets money for punishing citizens, we are FAR in debt so our country along with this monkey for president tries more desperate acts to get money, and its apparent how we are trying to do this now as in this video, ITS THEIR GOVERMENT NOT OURS. Fuck America, and Obama.
He lives in the UK therefore US law does NOT apply to him, if he has broken a law try him in the UK under UK laws, totally crazy how we are even CONSIDERING extraditing a UK citizen over something so small, revoke this treaty asap.
He did break the law, you know. Should he be punished? Yes. But I don't see the need to bring him over here.
The problem is we're applying laws to the internet that don't make sense. Amusing as it may be to say, we need an Internet Police, a cooperative effort by all the countries to ensure protection of copyright law.
But honestly? I have 0 sympathy for him. He was knowingly linking to pirated content. No matter how fuzzy the copyright law was, he's over the line. But punish him in the UK.
He can't be punished in the UK lol. They would HAVE to bring him to the US for the US crimes. Which is idiotic, because he lives in the UK, and has lived in the UK; he should be fined as the UK law states.
And honestly, have you seen how many sites do what he did? A damn lot.
You didn't read the post. I agree, he should be punished where he committed the crime. That's the problem with enforcing laws on the internet; it's far too difficult to agree on what is and isn't a crime and what the punishment should be.
And I don't care of half the sites on the web do it: Link to Pirated Content, you are breaking copyright law. It's as cut and dried as that. The reaction is over the top, but there was a crime committed.
Great... Another stupid thing the US is trying to do GG. But seriously what b2wotimes said go sign the petition -> fightforthefuture . org/pipa/ <----- stop the censor bill. Make a difference fellow US interwebz surfers!
I hate living in america. Pretty soon we won't be allowed to go on youtube, or tumblr or any other site that allows free speech or animosity. Now we have this kid who just had links to other sites getting in trouble by a country he doesn't even live in? Fuck this place. I hate it. I cannot wait until I move to Canada.
This is so fucking ridiculous. Living here in the US scares me, and what, now the UK isn't safe either... because of us? jfc, wtf? I don't even.
Big corporations should NOT have this much power over people, the power to make ridic charges over ridic small offenses in order to scare people into buying their shit.
They shouldn't have ANY power over people! WE should have power over them. Where is everyone, we should be beyond angry- sitting on their asses, watching the shit they bought?e_e /pissed
@TechniqueEditing What he was doing was illegal anywhere, but it was mostly harming American companies. UK officials have less reason to be upset than US officials. That's all.
@Leownification he did not commit a crime under UK law and as he is a UK citizen US law does not apply to him, so no he should not be punished for anything because he hasen't broken the law.
Time for a change of government people, we the people have the right to bring down our current government if it infringes on our rights!!! We need a complete change of office and overhaul of our system.
@Fayroe They are becoming a Communist Country that's what, they are becoming the very thing that they hate so damn much and worse than evil they claim they hate.
I even want to go outside and burn a fucking flag but even THAT is illegal. Oh wait,I bought it with MY money so it's MY property not theirs. So basically I'm just renting it.
So pretty much every person with some internet account could potentially be fined, or face an even worse sentence. It's the INTERNET for crying out loud!
@pocahomiehontas He ran a website that let people download pirated content. Unless your internet account breaches copyright, then you won't be fined. It's his fault. HE DID THE CRIME. He should be punished, in my opinion.
Let the poor kid go..This is fucking retarded! This makes me want to leave america. I think we just want attention. What are we going to get what we want? By making a fool out ourselves because a teenager made a joke... Now everyone can see how childish the U.S is. Everybody clap your hands.
However im also American/English. People, not all americans are assholes, a lot are, but not all, stop going all rage-time and stop calling America such offensive things. No country is completely innocent in any regard. America isnt, England isnt. No one is. Stop acting like little gits.
@GunsNRosesGal46 Living in America, yeah, some people do believe that the US is the ruler of the Universe. After all, God is on our side! What is happening here is the American courts are saying "Because we OBVIOUSLY control the internet, any US crime committed on the internet is obviously a crime everywhere else, and anyone using the internet is now legally able to be tried as an American resident!" It's just a slap in the face to Britain's sovereignty, and a disgrace to our judicial branch.
@felixu95 I wish I could live in another country for at least 3 months so that I could know what it's like to live under a completely different form of government. Better yet, why do we only study U.S. government in high school? Why don't we get in depth with countries that have similar but different systems?
Are you kidding me? This kid is a British citizen, and speaking as an American myself, our country needs to back the fuck off. We have no business trying to punish people who commit crimes IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY.
And to those of you going on about which country is better, you've obviously missed the entire point of the video. This is an issue with the American GOVERNMENT, not Americans themselves. We don't support everything our government does, so stop with the "American sux" ridiculousness.
Oh please, people. This is about laws, not the individuals in one country. I disagree with this law and many more in the US, and I'm American. You're saying the UK's citizens agrees with every single law that happens? Just try and help this poor guy!
You're kidding me, right? Take the "my country is better than yours" garbage somewhere else, kids. This video isn't about one country being better than another, and so take your stupid argument elsewhere, or you should probably shut it. Thanks.
I don't know what you learned in geography but in the US we say that North America is a continent and South America is a separate continent. Central America (Mexico, Guatemala etc.) is within the North American continent. Canada is another country. State? WTF?! The entire landmass was named for Amerigo Vespucci and it is why it's called America. OK... end of lesson.

Sad. I'm 19 and I could do a better job running my country. :/ (Maybe they should pass a bill lowering the age for running for office? 16 years to wait is a bit long--America might not exist by then... Pfffffftt.)

@Cellmate4ever As much as I agree with you, you do know that Obama opposes this right ? He's on our side.

He lives in the UK therefore US law does NOT apply to him, if he has broken a law try him in the UK under UK laws, totally crazy how we are even CONSIDERING extraditing a UK citizen over something so small, revoke this treaty asap.
Jellybr0 3 months ago
my country..wow this is retarded -_-
313hummer 3 months ago
He did break the law, you know. Should he be punished? Yes. But I don't see the need to bring him over here.
The problem is we're applying laws to the internet that don't make sense. Amusing as it may be to say, we need an Internet Police, a cooperative effort by all the countries to ensure protection of copyright law.
But honestly? I have 0 sympathy for him. He was knowingly linking to pirated content. No matter how fuzzy the copyright law was, he's over the line. But punish him in the UK.
CrystalBearer20 3 months ago
@CrystalBearer20
He can't be punished in the UK lol. They would HAVE to bring him to the US for the US crimes. Which is idiotic, because he lives in the UK, and has lived in the UK; he should be fined as the UK law states.
And honestly, have you seen how many sites do what he did? A damn lot.
You type educated, but your views are flawed.
HTxFanGurl 3 months ago
@HTxFanGurl
CrystalBearer20 2 months ago
@CrystalBearer20 Did you knew Google/Yahoo and most top Search Engine links to Pirated Content if you search then? lol

GunsNRosesGal46 3 months ago 8
@GunsNRosesGal46 Living in America, yeah, some people do believe that the US is the ruler of the Universe. After all, God is on our side! What is happening here is the American courts are saying "Because we OBVIOUSLY control the internet, any US crime committed on the internet is obviously a crime everywhere else, and anyone using the internet is now legally able to be tried as an American resident!" It's just a slap in the face to Britain's sovereignty, and a disgrace to our judicial branch.

Moogles7878 3 months ago 43
Oh please, people. This is about laws, not the individuals in one country. I disagree with this law and many more in the US, and I'm American. You're saying the UK's citizens agrees with every single law that happens? Just try and help this poor guy!
