  • haha i laughed when i actually saw tht asafa was really there

  • lol iight then, wel thanks

  • this guy is faster than light

  • damn.. this man he is just.. wow!!!.. he looks so quiet, idk if its part of every track runners, but when i run, my head is always facing down, i do it because i hate to see the crowd it slows me down.. the only time i finally look up is when im extremely tire..and i start to move side ways.. i dont know people call me fast and a great sprinter, but i dont know a good sprinter from a bad one, i love track as much as i love school, music, and my families, i really want to get faster.

  • @3vette12 You run with your head down to not look at the crowd. You should be looking straigh ahead after your drive phase. But I have seen people run like you. So if it works then continue.

  • @chris6878 iight then, but is there any suggestions as in ideas of helping me with my speed. because i've gotten alot slower, from the great runner i used to be.

  • @3vette12 Get strong, do plyos and train smart. There are too many variables for me to really help.

  • @3vette12 you're totally like me !

  • C'est le meilleur au 40 première mètre !! je l'adore

  • i dident think he waas there at first lol

  • look at his lower body it doesnt move to the sides at all and he pulls his legs straight to the front in one line. It requires a lot of muscle to run like this and hold the speed over 100m

  • @MrCristalin please keep your homoerotic comments to yourself.

  • @chris6878 Pues sino es de tu agrado mi comentario eliminalo y asunto arreglado!

  • @boman27 please keep your homo comments to yourself. Thanks

  • HULK

  • @phastman99 You Guys Don't know what you are talking about we get tested DURING OFF SEASON...... so we cant "smart train" then come back off when its race time...

  • straight BEAST

  • Training has moved on so much since I was competing, I now coach and the boundaries are being pushed all the time at every level. If I was competing in my prime now I'm sure I would be quicker than I was back in the day

  • Asafa Powell was thin, now he is very muscular

  • Him turn a man

  • yea you cant out right accuse anyone but you can have an idea.

  • imo yea. most of the pros are. At that level they have to make a living. Feed a family. Being honest will not pay the mortgage.

  • Yea thats all I was saying. The other idiot that I removed just didnt want to read what I was saying. The athletes that do get caught like gatlin start to think they are untouchable and do something stupid like running in a small meet while they are still on it during the early part of the season. BUt either way you still have to have alot of talent. THe drugs will not take a 11 sec guy and make him a 10.0 guy.

  • Yep. Just talking from the things I have experienced and heard from reliable sources. Im not trying to destroy your heroes. I dont see anything wrong with taking steroids. The news media made the public like you look down upon it. Top athletes go through alot to stay on top. A little help is needed. People would shocked to know how many athletes starting from highschool or taking PEDs. I dont care if either of you believe me or not.

  • Comment removed

  • Ok I now think you are retarded. When the hell did you here me say I was disgusted? Did I say bolt was on steroids? Not one of my comments would have given you that idea! Do you read anything or do you just skim thru. Do you know how to read? Please stop putting words in my mouth. IF you are not gonna read my post then please stop replying. Read you damn idiot read! Fucktard.

  • @chris6878 U didnt but I say it. Every human beeing running the 100m under 10s has been on steroids. Its not about beeing on em at the day of your competition.. the trick is to be clean at that day.. its about the training and preparation time months before it. Do u guys really belive training methods did improve so much that every year ppl getting faster and faster.. doesnt matter what discipline.. they all do it or they are just to slow..

  • @nightscreener finally someone with common sense. they take peds during the prep period to build up a great base. all the real work is done during this period. it amazes me how many people think that drugs arent needed. the drugs help them recover from those hard ass workouts. you cant train at that level without destroying your body. these guys run amazing times at practice that would destroy a normal mans body. peds are just a supplement to smart training.

  • Comment removed

  • ok u need to send that degree back to devry or whatever fake online unversity u got it from. you cannot or refuse to read. did u read nightscreeners post? sounds like he agrees with me. ifact im done responding to your ignorance. BLOCKED

  • Your right. Everyone is clean.

  • WHo did I accuse? Reread my comments then post your ignorance!

  • god i dont like seeing his sack moving around

  • Unless you are gay why are you even looking?

  • lol...wat bullies

  • 95% of them dopin fool.

  • i understand that but damn why i gotta b a ''fool''? :)

  • my bad, lol

  • naw you good

  • get me some evidence. Usain doping then? Tyson doping?

  • Another Naive fan. I bet you thought Marion was clean before she admitted to doping. If they hadnt made her tell you would still think she was clean. Its apart of the game. Who cars if they dope or not. They still have more talent then most of the world. Drugs or not.

  • Comment removed

  • Marion jones was said to be on drugs at the age of 16. Yes most if not all elite sprinters are talents growing up. Doesnt mean they will not use drugs.

Many people think the drugs make sprinters fast. That is not tru. The drugs are used for recovery. What athlete that ever got caught seemed like the type to take drugs? I dont care if they take them or not. They will still be fast.

  • powell looks like Rambo

  • Bloodclauut him hood a slow him downn

  • He came up at 23 steps, thats great technique keeping the head down , getting conditioned for his breathing into the top end speed, he definately transitions well, his race is determined at 60m

  • Anyone who can read small print is able to see, even at 50yards away from this guy, with what he is being threatened.

  • Wow!! :P

  • find me any good one hundred meters man that doesn't have his head down the first 35-40m of the race.

  • Ben johnson

  • no when you use starting blocks to get a goog start and the drive you look down

  • this guy has more sub 9.8 performances than any other human being on the planet. He is looking down as part of his drive phase moran.

  • U LOOK DOWN CUZ its Gravity hes leaning soo it makes him go faster

  • @rebpharoh it's every track runners drive phase dude

  • its called drive phase

  • lmao.wtf are you talking about.you are no were near elite class athlete. so shut up and cry to yourself.

  • great video!

  • 1:12... Look how modest and simple the man is! The other guys laughing and his gesture was of a man with class!

  • Okay, I recently read in an article that most elite sprinters, when just coming out of the blocks, don't start out with a narrow step width, they come out with a WIDE step width so that they can get faster contact with the ground allowing them to be able to drive out quicker than their opponents. In other races, I've seen Asafa get out quickly with that technique, but I'm not sure why he doesn't in this.

  • Sprinting rule number 1: any side to side movement drastically reduces speed. The wide step width is just because your body cannot handle close step width from a dead start. For example u cant do free bar squats with your feet really close together.

  • Not completely true, side to side to movement in the first few steps out of the blocks at the begining of the drive phase is quite common amoung world class sprinters, I cant remember why, but there is reason for it

  • Very beautiful man!!!

  • Haha, his face. :]

  • thanks man. that helps enough

  • chris let me ask u something...don;t ignore me though please. is squatting a good workout for a sprinter.? and how can i get better for 400 m dash?

  • YEs squats can be beneficial. I do them. I stay away from them during the week of a meet cause they tend to keep my legs sore for a while. I go heavy for a few reps...eg 405x2 reps. For the 400 youn need to run overdistance between 6-500m. But it is complicated. Ther is a lot you need to do

  • he's looking at himself at t the end ! too sexy!! super beautiful man

  • nicest

  • hahaha 1:18

  • Asafa Powell is a fantastic sprinter, but he looks wierd (on his face) when he runs. But anyway it's not the most important thing!

  • you have to relax your self when you run than you will run faster in his case his relaxing the muscles of his face that's why....

  • U.S.

    Florida

  • wow ur from U.S.! Thats Far I'am from Singapore. can i have asafa powells number

  • lol i aint got it.

  • nah iam just playing its great knowing u

  • chris you talked to asafa powell man ur so lucky i wished i could talk to asafa powell in person

  • yea he is a pretty cool dude. not stuck up at all.

  • Man ur so lucky i wish i could talk to him

  • WoW

  • Chris was any of this filming used for a documentary?

  • yea it was a japanese documentary. My boy was in documentary also. U can find it on youtube. I was in the doc for a split second. IF you see it. im the guy with the beard behind the fence taking pictures.

  • His start outta the blocks is awesome. I've tried to emulate this, you know, the way his knees stay in line with his head but it's soooo hard man. This guys made it an art

  • woo

  • whoa man... calm down just cos we cant run the 100m in 9.72 doesn't mean that we dont know the technique and were not allowed to share our knowledge and opinions on youtube where other viewers comments and responses can aid the development of our knowledge in the sport.

  • great form, very natural, correct face expression means he is relax ha........

  • i have to disagree, his arm movement isn't parralelle and u can see the negative effect its having on him at around 0:55 to 1:00 where his body seems like it's swinging side to side wich, of course, will slow him down.

  • he isnt really moving that much from side to sit it just seems like it mor when the camera gets closer.... i learned it in broadcastins when u hav a close up and u lean over a lil bit it looks like a huge one. his arms could be mor strait im sure he knos wut he is doing

  • what are you techniques stupid?..... Im pretty sure you cant run 100m in 9.72. And I bet youre not close to being the fastest man in the world.... you probaby dont even run jack ass

  • he looks sorta hurt

  • i don't know if his body can withstand going any faster... looks like his skin's about to just slide off! All that upward G force....i wonder how mugh it is?

  • his right arm travels a longer distance than his left arm

  • thats natural he cant b perfect especially at 27mph aivala! who cares hes still proven hes fast as fuck and makes it look easy
