Let's say I run a Distortion pedal into the LS-2. We're only using Loop A, which has Chorus and Flanger, and Bypass. When in Loop A, is the Distortion heard along with the other 2 pedals or ONLY the Chorus and Flanger?
quick question; i wanna buy one of these but can it handle TWO loops and also a dry sound (ie THREE seperate sounds) or is it just one loop and a dry sound
hey guy, very nice video, cool, i have a question, so, i have a ns-2 but i want to use mi overdrive an my metal muff whit the ns-2, all this and delay in the loop A, and chorus and delay in loop B, the problem is, how can i conect the ns2 to the LS-2 in one loop,
so, i hope you undertandme, ,, see you and so much thanks guy,
i don't see much advantage in this pedal over a simple (and cheaper) a/b pedal. an a/b/y pedal is my favorite for selecting between 2 amps and/or running both at the same time.
If i wanted to have a clean signal, and then 2 loops, one with a spacey clean sound and one simply distorted, would this be possible with this pedal? For example, if i was playing on clean and I hit the pedal and it engages loop A, if I hit it again could it engage loop b (if it was set this way?) and then if i hit it again, would it go back to bypassed? Idk if this is clear, but basically what i am getting at is, can it go from off -> loop A (spacey clean) -> loop B (distortion) -> off?
@greendayfan19 I think there's a setting which allows you to go through path A or path B (A bit similar to the EHX Switchblade), so you could switch amps & put pedals before the amps.
I see you have two electro harmonix small stone phasers. Does the nano small stone phaser sound the same as the bigger small stone phaser? I've been looking around for the traditional larger small stone, but they are discontinued now and getting harder to find.
hi there i use 4 pedals in my band and ideally im after a footswitch effect with my 4 boss pedals so when i click on one it cancels the last i used! can anyone on hear give me any info on how to achieve this desired effect?

I'm not quite clear on the concept of this pedal or others like it. If an amp does not have an actual physical effects loop built in, can you use this as an external effects loop of sorts, running pedals through it so that they don't go straight into the amp out front? Help would be appreciated. I'm not sure I can carry on with no effects loop!
it would be great if this pedal would switch amp channels with the loop,so you could have different effect combinations on a clean sound and change effect loops and channels with one stomp of the foot.
The Carvin V3 can do that. It's a head that comes with three channels and two effects loops. You can program which loop activates for which channel. It's pretty neat and it's a great head, too
thats sounds pretty cool. but i want to keep my current amp and use it. why hasnt anyone simply made a channel switcher with a loop in it, this doesnt sound like it would be hard to create and would be very useful. Maybe i will go in to business making them...lol
I want to get one to set up as A: My Dist/OD pedals and B: My modulation and Delays.
Therefore I can get the Radiohead Creep sound my having loop B's tremolo and boss ce-2 I can switch to my loop A, where I will have my marshall Shredmaster on :)
I want to have a setup with two lines, one where I have 6 pedals, and then 1 where it's just a pedal with true-bypass. Does the LS2 have any sort of effect on the signal? (some boss pedals and others in my experience seem dampen the natural tone of simply guitar going direct into your amp).
Dude, get over the rumor perpetuating morons, and marketing ploys to sell you hardwire products.
Buffered OR TRUE bypass affect your signal, just as does the LENGTH OF YOUR CABLE.
ANYTHING between your guitar, and the amp are going to dampen/alter/color your signal on some level.
The question you SHOULD be asking, is "how good is the buffer in the boss pedal?" Refer to muzique dotcomm slash true bypass dott htm if you want the REAL lowdown.
Don't listen to rumor perpetuating morons - true vs. buffered bypass is a malignant attempt by deranged waterheads that prey on newbs to add to their clique.
The question you SHOULD be asking is "how good is the buffer in this pedal?", because some are as transparent as any hardwire product.
ANY signal chained between is going to have some effect on your sound, PERIOD. jUST GOOGLE BUFFERED VS TRUE BYPASS and get some engineering facts.
Any effect has an affect on your signal, so stop listening to rumor perpetuating screws and do some research on your web browser.
This pedal has a bufferd bypass, BUT - allows you to run your chain direct to your amp through its bypass, while using the a/b loop to introduce other effects as needed.
In effect, you only have ONE pedal between your guitar, and amp.
AND each chain has a volume/output control - what more could you want??
1 question..im a beginner on using a/b switches but im thinking about buying a whirlwind A/B box because of having 8 pedals in my signal chain...if i was to use signal A, would that cause all pedals in signal B to "turn off"?meaning if i were to use signal B i would have to turn on the pedals i need to use in that chain again?
With the LS-2, you can either use loop A, loop B, or A & B together. The only drawback is that you only have a certain number of choices on how to switch loops. Meaning, you can set the pedal to engage loop A, then loop A & B together, or loop A and then loop B, or one loop at a time, but they will engage in that sequence only, not interchangably.
great video... Do you know any other line selectors possibly with more options rather than just effects loop on and off... Coz i wanna have more than one loop going. thanks
With the LS-2, you have the option for two effects loops, but you can only switch from one to the other, or have both engaged or just one. There are many other pedals that allow for mult loops that you can engage simult or one at a time. Lehle makes great ones, but they are expensive. The Boss NS-2 has an effects loop and it is a noise suppressor too, so that is a two for one pedal. Check ebay and you will find a bunch.
Thanks. Not a 100% sure about that, but I don't think you can. The AB-2 works as a channel switch primarily, hence only the inputs/outputs. The LS-2 offers 2 loops actually with the ability to switch to just one effects loop or the other, switch to one and then the other, or to use the loops together, so there are options for switching btw mulitple loops. I believe you would then need a separate input/output for each effects loop in order to control them via the AB-2.
I bought the AB-2 and its a piece of shit. i would DEFINETLY not reccomend it. its not true bypass, the LEDs are BARELY visible, and the footswitch is absolutely incompetent. the electro harmonix Switchblade costs like $6 Less, and has true bypass, and its built like a tank.

Very useful bit of kit
I'm selling a perfect condition Boss Line selector for super cheap.
On Ebay search "Boss LS-2 Line Selector". Its in auctions, its the cheapest one.
PM if your interested, or bid!

If the LS-2 runs out of batteries does the signal then go to both the effects loop and the amp or does it stay in one or the other signal path?

This pedal has so many options, I'm going to post a vid demoing some different uses than lengthwise here (who I thank for posting this).
Seriously - with it's mixing options, 6 different switch settings, it's crazy.
You can even loop two seperate amps if you want, to switch between the two with one stomp - or THREE for that matter, with the bypass.
