its easy to be critical of someone else's works. besides which, there are a number of ways to interpret a piece, this conductor's is one of many and should be respected.
He doesn't retard the ending and drag it out to it's profound conclusion. The final sequence seems robotic. Too much attention to the meter and not enough to the expression.
I'm not like Sravinsky, I had listen he speaks russian french german english... I can't translate my english is to bad. I had only said somethink like : You fighters, don't forget the beautiful music "Apollon Musagète" (first title in french). Error in my Valéry's citation : "Il s'agit d'atteindre la perfection par la volonté." I've found "rot" (my little dictionary) but not "twat". I think it's fun ! "Rubbish" Kanye West let me understand (american boy). Please bigmacintown
dear bigmacintown you are very funny guy, I don´t know about your brain, maybe it is too. Why do not just try to be a person?? keep the crap for your friends and family and let the people talk.
Pfffff... I was in two minds whether I should reply to your incredibly dull and totally inappropriate little message... But I'll just say this: i'll keep "the crap for my friends and family" when YOU'll mind your own bloody business!! Take a hike, loser.
loser? do you think you are a winner? You have too much shit inside to compete with anyone.
Inappropriate? "let me put it this way: you're a crap big-headed conductor." That must be very appropiate, nice sentence and nice spirit, and, overall, very smart. You must be a genious, Mr winner.
That's the typical coward attitude, when you must call your frieds to help you out. I am so scared of you and your friends... my knees are shaking right now, you are such a man!!!! Please don't do this to me!!!! nasty replies!!!!! oh my god!!!!
I can't believe I'm actually wasting my time communicating with a teenager! But I guess I quite enjoy seeing you make a total prat of yourself! Keep up the good work! -)-)
Still making a prat of yourself!(by the way: I find it astonishing that a COMPOSER should talk in this way... Me,I'm just a silly little amateur musician who happens to dislike people such as Varakarajan who compare themselves -as the name shows- to great artists; but YOU -gosh! I can't even start to imagine what kind of noise you put down on paper; but I guess that's all we can expect from a poor spaniard, fuming in his village at his inability to write good music...). Keep up the good work!
There is no such thing as "too much left hand" or "too little left hand". People just happen to have two hands and we use both when we conduct. Watch any video recording of Herbert von Karajan and tell me did he use "too much" of his left hand to get the result he got? I prefer the natural two-handed approach anytime to some one-handed (and one-eyed) kapellmeisterish show off.
Well in my opinion he did not use "too much" left hand! :) In conducting there is no rigid rules. There is no authority to tell what is too little what is too much. The fact that someone told you "your left hand should do this your right hand should do that" does not make it a god-given truth. Or maybe your conducting teacher thinks HE is a better conductor than von Karajan?
Big why don't you try to actually prove something? I mean there is no point in just asserting things, anyone can do it (with essentially no effort), and it certainly doesn't enrich dialogue.

Ozawa and Ansermet perfected it.

Sure he used too much left hand. But HE was Karajan. You're not.
So tell me now: who's the show-off...? -)

I don't know what you are (or think you are) but let's see some conducting clips of your own and we can have a fair comparison! ;)

Sure, just click on "Karajan" here on Youtube, and you should see a couple of clips of me conducting Berlin Phil.
