This studio audio recording is from the 1993 re-release version of Powers of Ten, rather than the version Shawn originally recorded for the 1992 release (that was the one where he played all the instruments himself).
It was this same 1993 version that Guthrie Govan just covered (very well) in the newest edition of Guitar Techniques magazine.
