  • ahm... ok....lemme see.... in the beggining i had no idea if that was YOUR room, if that was a mural you were doing for yourself or you were hired to do it or sth..... Anyway, i got the picture now, You ROOOOCK, (your bro also btw) and ahm..... since the mural doesnt look so good on camera, invite me over, i wanna see the real colors of it ;)

Btw, interesting dreams you ve got, and interesting style. I love the bubble tree, love from greece

  • Paint on the bread bag=sandwich break.. I've done it....lol.. Great painting.. bad for homework... great for the art...

  • lol, kudos

  • interesting. i like the idea. And it's funny how u said there's paint everywhere... "paint on a piece of bread" hahalol.. good job.

  • Amazing. Great work. Always nice to finsh such a large project you obviously thought about a long time. (Especially if you started a year ago!)

    Now go do your homework!

  • :) Thanks.. yeah its nice to sit here and enjoy it while taking a break from homework:P

  • cool stuff man great work. check out mine

  • This is beautiful!

  • thats really cool! I like the concept.

How does one do a time lapse of a painting?

Ive wanted to do one for the longest time.

  • Thanks:) Its really easy, you just video the whole process and then in a videoediting program you speed it up as much as it will let you. I had to do it in 3 steps. Speed it up to the max amount, then convert to mpg, then open that in the video edit software, and speed that up to the max. and so on untill you get the desired speed + length.

  • oh cool, so do you know of what a good angle would be for a drawing? like on a desk? All I have to work with is a compact digital camera if that helps.

  • well it depends on how you draw.. if you draw overtop of your work then do it from above and beside.. if your not fully over your work then you could set it up jsut over yoru sholder.. scott robertson does just above his head straight down.. seems to work for him and if you dont knwo who that is hes a pro. Anyway hope that helps:)

  • thats so sick...

  • thanks alot:)

  • really beautiful man, great work!

  • Heya.. thanks alot:)

  • Hey John,

    Its wade!! hehe

I wanted to watch this again

  • sup dood:) great seein ya again!

  • looks nice

  • really beautiful, haha! paint on the bread, nice...u look and sound like the guy off of "knocked up" do u have a myspace, ur soo funny!!

  • Haha thanks.. yeah i get that a lot.. I've recently cut the fro(im trying to get a design coop so i need to be more presentable) but anyway i have a my space but i haven been on in like a year. I use face book mostly. If you want you can add me on there though. just search John Cowle on the Toronto Ontario network.

  • nice one

  • thanks:)

  • Neat and creative idea. It's interesting how you started in the foreground rather then working from the background etc considering it's opaque colors. Usually it's more work or time consuming, but hey if it works for you what can I say. :) keep it up! 'muralist' is a good and lucrative trade.

  • yeah i suppose your right but the paint is just poster paint and it was very thin so i would have had to apply alot to cover over previous layers.. plus the tree was the first thing i thought of

  • Right on !

  • WOW!!! NICE!!

  • Thank you:)

  • Very creative.

    So much patience!

  • Thanks, i probably would have had more patience had it not been from 12-7 am :P

  • Haha. I think 11 hours is long enough. Especially at those hours.

  • cool make more later do youn sell your painting?

  • Yes but only if its a commission. If i do it on my own time its either a gift for a friend or for myself.

  • ha ha nope! If anything, drugs impair your creativity. :3

  • i agree, no drugs for me:)

  • It's beautiful. Wonderful concept.

  • Thank you:) Who says you need drugs to be creative eh?!

  • Wait...so you started in December, finished it in November and you say you finished it in 11 hours???? I'm confused!!! Or do you mean you took a VERY long time thinking of an idea?

  • Oh yeah sorry that was confusing. So here is what happened:

Total painting time 11 hours. The first 1.5 hours was done(Nov 2006),but I stoped bc my camera broke, and I was determined to capture the painting on video. So a few weeks ago(Nov 2007) I finally borrowed a friends camera and painted the remaining 9.5 hours. So I say it took me a whole year since I started a year ago, but the actual time I spent painting was actually 11 hours. I hope that clarifies things

  • also the first camera had a wider field lense and was a bit darker(notice it changes at 17 seconds) thats the split between last year and this year.

  • wow, that was sooo cool I love it u should do more lol :)

  • thanks.. unfortunately im out of space.. i might do one on a drywall slab.. but not till next semester, now i have no time!

  • Wow, this is really awesome!!

    You're great at that <33

It's a really cool painting, thanks for uploading!

I hope you got your homework done eventually. xP

  • Thanks:) yeah i dont make murals a regular occurance.. that way i wont fail:P

  • anyone think i should do a techno version of this?
