@Naimka1> After Babyface n LA left. So did Keyo. Only Dee n Satin stayed n cut an album. That didn't work out n so they disbanded til a few yrs ago. Keyo, Dee, Satin, n Stick, who left da band in 85, got back together. Babyface n LA still doin their own thing. I got no knowledge whether da group made any recent songs..
I think they're lip syncing. Most, if no all of the acts that appeared on Soul Train did that. We know what happened with the careers of Babyface and LA Reid. They went on the Bigger & Better things. Does anyone know that happened with the other band members?
Man I love how they made the transition from 1 singer 2 the next..That's how u do it..Not everybody having a mic like rappers do on stage..BRING BACK REAL R&B WITH NO HIP HOP
They're totally playing a backtrack. Compare it to the album version and it's exactly the same. You can also tell because of how the voices fade at the end of the song.
Almost all performance on Soul Train used recorded vocals and instrumentals. Soul music was a fine studio art and you could never duplicate it especially in a live setting. Overdubs, string/horn orchestration, and a proper mix would be impossible.
these guys were so damn talented all of them independantly and as a unit but the couldnt pull past that minneapolis sound the deele was our (L.A.'s West Coast) version of The Time
Wow they look like they went straight from the video shoot to Soul Train. Their clothes look exactly like the ones they wore on thier video. Oh well, it still is a great song. Thanks for posting this video :-)
You know I truly believe that, same move, and everything but that's when you can truly sing and looks don't matter, not that they look bad or anything. They sound so good that you don't care about what they are wearing or where they are you just want to hear them all the time well at least I do you know.
