@oliviariver when you lose someone you love, not matter what the circumstances, you lose that future with them. Whether it be a girlfriend/boyfriend, friend. mother, son...whatever. It's the sense of "losing" what you wanted and what you expected to accomplish or achieve with that certain someone.

He said he cried too, he got over it somewhat quickly. What I dont get is why he cried, if he's the dumper. Isnt he supposed to already be over me? Within a week he was talking to a girl online in another country, they exchanged their 'pictures' a week ago. I didn't know that breakups were so hard, he was my first legit, mutual love. It IS painful...
@oliviariver Because even though he's the 'dumper' it's still hard to let go of someone you used to love... It doesn't matter what the current feelings are, just the feeling of losing that one person that was or still is special. It doesn't matter who dumps who.

His friend who lived in Nashville needed a kidney transplant so Wade flew out to see his friend. When he got there he went to talk to him and the chorus of the song is actually what his friend told him.

@oliviariver Because even though he's the 'dumper' it's still hard to let go of someone you used to love... It doesn't matter what the current feelings are, just the feeling of losing that one person that was or still is special. It doesn't matter who dumps who.

@oliviariver Because even if nobody likes to admit it, we're not always sure what we're doing. Sometimes we'll think oh whatever I wouldn't care anyways if we weren't dating anymore and the next day we'll be mad at ourselves for being so stupid. Sorry, this didn't have much to do with your break-up, but that's the gist of it. Nobody's really sure of what they have or want until it's gone.

@oliviariver Presonally I find girls get dramatic and irrational with their emotions a lot of times, while it saddens me that in relationships there rarely is any "love" anymore, butchered by the media, destroyed by false ideas... In a relationship there is that feeling so deep inside like you would give up the world for that special someone... How can you not cry with such a loss?

@jclmedb27 The song is for whatever people want to relate to it and anyway Jason Wade also has a reason as to why he wrote this song. His friend who lived in Nashville needed a kidney transplant so Wade flew out to see his friend. When he got there he went to talk to him and the chorus of the song is actually what his friend told him.

I've been readin the comments from everyone and it breaks my hear to hear these stories and I just want everyone to know that Jesus Christ died for all of us and God wants to be our comfort, and I know it sounds 'religious' but its true guys I put my life in that truth and I felt compellled to encourage everyone on here to seek God through Christ who paid atonement for our sins so we can know God truly and He will comfort you all. I love this song but the video reminds me of my dead boyfriend. We were walking down the street. Out of nowhere a drunk driver comes speedding down the road and hit my boyfriend.
