I would like to mention that I have an 05 GT and psc777 has mention before, I can safety say we are roughly equal as far as mods go, and my best time at the track so far (1/8th mile) was 8.48. @ 86.12 mph on street tires.

And just to assume one has forced Induction on their car base on the outcome of a video is Ignorant, it this is the case, the outcome of the race would have been ten-folded.

All mods are listed on the home page as well. If it wasn't still in storage I would go take a pic right now under the hood. you can check out my other videos on the road course with the cam inside and tell there is no blower.

I know the history of the GTO, and thats why it failed, Pontiac lost a gem by the way they rolled it out.

@psc777 Absolutely correct my friend, and I want to set the record that the 3Vs on the S197 are constantly underestimated in the general public because of lack of knowledge of its performance, let alone potential. same go with mustangs in general.

A 2005 and up Mustang GT with a CAI (cold air intake) and Tune will net you 30 rwhp period, these aren't Assumptions, these are Facts and will run anywhere from low 13's to high 12's with a decent driver, and get 4.10s into play and will be faster.

Its a fact that Pontiac was trying to turn out a GTO remake quickly and didn't want to have to go through all of the inspections and stuff you need to do when you design a new car. So they went over to their Australian division grabbed the Monaro rebadged it and sold it here in time for the 04 model year. Its the most half assed muscle car reintroduction in history.

absolutely true. the biggest mistake was naming it the gto. it was like a smack in the face to the history of the gto. if ur gonna use possibly the biggest muscle car name in history on a new car, that car better be designed from the ground up to represent that name. not bring a car that has been in production in another country for a couple years and use a legendary american name. thats y i just realized that they arent bad cars. i was so pissed at the name i never bothered to look at them.

its not that gto's are over rated its that most ppl dont know how to drive them... i have an 05 and on the track its hard to get traction with stock tires plus have you felt the gear box in a gto if u get a short shifter alone you should beable to knock off .2 seconds I feel like i am driving a effing semi lol... but i would take my goat over any na mustang

Its just a better bang for the buck because of bolt ons. If I do a full exhuast and you do a full exhaust Ill get the bigger gains. If you do a cam and I do a cam I get the bigger power advantage. If I do heads cam intake exhaust ect Ill still get much more power than you would in a mustang. The GTO's are just really mod friends for N/A. The car cost a little more new but the base you get to start with is incredible

I own a Mustang and I have to agree that GM in general is more mod-friendly. I seen a lot of of videos where a Camaro SS with cams and LT's is having no problems hanging with a blown Stang. Displacement has a lot to do with it. But then again SS ran for a little more than the Stang did and does. Same with the Goat.

There is a saying "There is no replacement for displacement"...their wrong Whipple and Kenne bell say different :) GTOs may be mod friendly but their still very heavy and look like a cavalier as mentioned above. If they would have brought back the original styling of the GTO form way back...I would have loved the GTO and possibly have looked to purchase. But they screwed up big time.

Hey some like that Cavilier look...if you do, than I guess to you the GTO is fine. I wouldnt go around telling car guys the mustang is ugly, because youd be discredited pretty quick. They are both automatic. so no mess up's on shifting. You gotta give credit to ford and the 4.6l v8. Who else has that small of a v8 and can hang with a car with over 100hp? At the time I purchased the '05 GTO, the Mustang was 25k + a 3k "we didnt build enough of em" fee. The GTO was 29k & I srill dont drive a retro car with a bad interior & 100hp less.

My 05 ran a 12.99 @ 108mph on the stock all season tires. After a cam, and a few bolt ons (intake/Mass Air/Tune/headers/cat back) I picked up another 110hp gain. I have beaten a pretty stock Shelby GT500KR by .2 of a second. The LS2 has amazing potential & I'm not driving a retro car with a bad interior.

I have an 06 Mustang GT. My mods are cold air intake/tune and drag radials. Best time to date is 13.02.

The only GTO I've ever lost to is an 06 with a supercharger and it was a lot closer than you'd expect. So close the driver of the GTO asked me to open my hood because he didn't believe I was stock. GTO's are a very over rated car in my opinion.

Wrong, 2k05gt! GTOs weigh almost 3800, not 3950. Also, IRS isn't harder to launch, especially with automatics. I know because I own an '04. I've also driven the '05 and '06 GTO with the 6 liter and found them just as easy to launch. People that think that IRS equipped cars are harder to launch than live axle equipped cars are full of shit. I almost bought a Mustang GT when the new body style came out and decided on the GTO because of better ride AND handling over the Stang.

the GTO Weights over 3950 lbs the Mustang weights 3400 lbs given that the GTO has IRS and it's very hard to launch the mustang has the advantage by both weight and launch capabilities.

My all Motor 05 Mustang GT runs 12.83 @ 106.66 with intake tune and a couple of other bolt-ons. Stock for stock it's a drivers race. but one you mod the stang it takes off for very little money.

Wow did I push a button with you haha Facts in this case mean nothing. The power train of a GTO is great...Corvette motor, 6 speed, and suspension. Great overall powerplant...SHITTY looks. A glorified CAVALIER...please dont try to argue with the fact your car looks like a chevy cavalier..its pointless. and just to let you know I drive a 2007 Mustang Roush with the stage 2 package. Not supercharged Yet but mid 12s with minor bolt ons isnt bad :)I enjoy the car and mine actually looks like muscle

Shaped like a box? If your referring to it having the 60s styling...Im pretty sure the 60s mustangs are now iconic of the pony car era. They were bringing retro muscle styling back and to me they did an amazing job. The GTO is easily mistaken for a Cavalier..and thats a fact. The mustang looks like nothing else on the road. And BTW...GTO has the vette motor..yes its going to like mods...but its still HEAVY and looks like a cavalier. Ill take my Roush with a Twin Screw over a GTO..Thanks
