i have to say, this is why i fell in love with coldplay music a couple of years ago - this simplicity, intimacy but at the same time haunting alternative rock.... still love this song even after a hundred billion times i listened to it. viva la vida was a big dissapointment for me, dont like it very much. i hope they will finally make another jewel like parachutes and rush of blood to the head again in the future

i have to say every time i hear this song i grin like a mad ejitt. i want to see them in concert, the last time i saw them was in 03 an the x andy album was just out, dont think they even had released the scientist and the were amazin. tho i really dont like their viva la vida stuff. shud i risk all my lovely original concert memories to see them again? and possibly not like it?

yes cause when i saw them last year i didn't give viva la vida a chance, but when they performed it was amazing they mixed it up well and even got me to like the new stuff.

you should give viva la vida a chance. i listened to X&Y so many times and the first time i listened to viva la vida, i thought it was terrible. but i listened through it over a few times, and then it just clicked. they do play older songs as well at their live shows.

i don't think so because what they've done isn't really progress it's just change in sound and i think if they made music like the parachutes album it 'll make them true to wat made them famous and not make them look like sell outs for trying to please the bosses instead of the fans who really make them rich.plus i think it'd b more of a progress if they made at least one more album like parachutes and a rush of blood to the head and still make the album a success depending on their creativity

ahm common dude, this was probably the first time they played at tv...chris´voice sounds as perferct as recorded on the album. And they may not have all those lights and lasers they have today, but this perfomance is completely pure and beautiful, just like Parachutes.

Depends what you call mainstream, having popular music i dont think makes you mainstream, i think they're one of the most unique bands out there personally.

unlike bands such as greenday, lost prophets and even MCR who have CHANGED their style to become popular (i know its a diff. genre but ya catch my drift)
