As I said, had lunch with him a few months ago. We are trying to get all the Pop stuff out on cd, etiher the first two albums and the EP, or a retrospective sort of a thing. This stuff NEEDS to be out there!!
One of THE best power pop bands ever!! used to see them at the Whiskey and the Starwood......Just had lunch with David Swanson the other day!! He lives in Montana now. GREAT guy!!!!!. This band should have been huge!!
If you see him again, ask him if he remembers anything about the taping of this song. I'm curious if they did the song in a studio or if it was shot in one of the LA clubs. Thanks, Dave
I have both albums, the first album is harder, but the first song on the first album is titled "you outta know" and it's one of the best power pop/rock songs I've ever heard, I get goosebumps every time I hear it, and I have to air-guitar to it as well, lol. that album is expensive, but worth it, the songs alternate between typical 70s power pop to a stooges like hard sound, strange for the same band to go between in the same album, it's worth the money (50 bucks, ouch!)
Go! is a true classic. How they never get lumped into the great power pop bands of the era is beyond me. I remember finding about 5 copies in the cut out bin( if you are younger than 35 you might not understand this reference) and demanding my friends buy them for 99 cents. I still have my copy. Thanks for posting this.

Good to see I am not the only person in the world who knows The Pop and values their music. "Go!" is an overlooked masterpiece.

The lead singer looks a lot like Bryan Ferry of Roxy Music. O_o

@rubinoos1 That's because he's equally as hot and cool as Ferry-and that's David Swanson.

Do you have the Go-Gos appearance?

Nope, wish I did. Did they appear on "Hollywood Heartbeat"? THAT would be an early band video!! ;-)

The Go-Gos appeared on an episode that aired around Halloween 1980.
