I think afterall has it nailed, but it was a valiant attempt!

My escape plan involves pulling all the clothes out of the wardrobe and hiding them under the bedclothes so that they think it's me sleeping, then hiding in the wardrobe with a wire coathanger so that I can jump out and stab them in the back when they go to check in the bed.

Foolproof, really. :)
