Either way the Spanish were here to convert Natives to Christianity not annihilate them or kill them off. Many Spanish married Native Americans and integrated them into the community by teaching them the language. Of course it wasn't perfect and their were some abuses but people were treated a million times better than when Anglo settlers came. I mean basically Anglo settlers call Mexicans indians
