@tad1877 In fairness if you think about it, they didn't know exactly what weapons they had. They were told they had machine guns, shotguns and pipe bombs, plus if the police didn't know the school the two killers could have been lurking any where in the school. Plus if you read the official report the reason it took so long was because they were breaching the school room by room and removing/rescuing students who had barricaded themselves inside a classroom or were injured.

Wow! the cops really were cowards this day. I would have tried something to save these kids. You see them walking toward the school and then suddenly back off and walk back. The SWAT team did more in 5 mins. then the Columbine P.D. did in 3 1/2 hours. Just my perspective as I watched this video.
So sad that these young lives were snuffed out ......what a mad world we live in.

I am not defending the police. Do some research. They r instructed to not go in or attack until backup arrives&they are sure no one(innocent) will get hurt upon their arrival. It is a rule. While I agree, they are legally bound. They can get sued as well. They r damned if they do or don't. So put ur selves in their shoes. They have families&kids too. It does affect them. as i watch this I am so impressed with the way the police and swat were protecting those kids...whenever they were running to saftey you can see the police ....guns raised watching around them and running with them to saftey....great job! that community really came together..except the woman in the end who handled the kid on the stretcher, she was heartless!

If the world adopted your approach, shootings would continue to get more deadly since no one would look for a way to improve things.
Law enforcement across the country has since changes their tactics, and in many cases have gotten to the shooter and subdued them before they could harm others.
Saying bubbly things about love and peace and not addressing the problems is easy, but gets nothing done.
Fixing the problem takes work.

In the sense of them pulling the trigger, no. However...getting called "faggot" everyday, excluded from everything by everyone else, and physically bullied set these kids off. Another account even said that bottles and rocks were thrown at them at points, and once even a bag of either urine or feces. These two got it every day and although unacceptable, understandable why they acted out so violently.
