Nice to see a 1960s approach. But while situation and dialog driven, they are rather mild compared to the earlier theatricals. Also the voices are a bit bland, especially Tubby's.
@RayPointer Little Lulu creator Marjorie Buell supervised production of the two 60s Lulu cartoons to make sure they were more like her comic strip and John Stanley's comic books than the original cartoons were; this cartoon was adapted directly from one of Stanley's comic book stories.
Indeed, due to drastically lower budgets for the studio, most 1960s Paramount cartoons were situation and dialog driven to make up for the limited animation.
Wow! I'm really amazed! I didn't know that there was Lulu's cartoons from the 60's! And they are very good - since the stories were adapted from original comic books!
It's such a pity that only two cartoons were made. It would probably be the best Little Lulu's cartoon series... although I'm a big fan of the 1995 HBO's series!
The second, and last, of two attempts by Paramount (and Marjorie Henderson Buell) to revive "Little Lulu" as a theatrical cartoon series in the early '60s. This one, released under the "Comic Kings" banner [with several of the "King Features Trilogy" TV cartoons Paramount produced for them, before their first TV appearance in 1963], was released in April 1962, and eventually added to the King Features TV "package". The story was directly adapted from one of John Stanley's "Lulu" comic books.
