If you can't find a "prepared" steel cheep just buy a cheep file and break off a 4 inch (10cm) piece. You can smooth the edge by rubbing it on concrete or it witt wear down sommth with use.
I found someone who sells viking firestarters, but they wanted $40 for it, which is a ripoff. All it is is a bent piece of high carbon steel. NOT worth $40! I can find scraps for free like that at a steel mill!

To get a Viking or medieval fire-steel try searching under re-enactment suppliers. That's how I got mine.
