Ok, I was just playing Onlive the beta and the graphics are horrible! 720 is the max res and it seemed like the texture were dumbed down completely. I'm a PC gamer so it's even worse for graphics but this wont persuade about 1% of the PC gamer market and probably 3% of the console market. I was comparing Dirt 2 maxed on PC to Onlive settings... it was so blury on onlive. Not to mention we havent heard the fees they will charge after the second year.

I have a few serious issues with the "On-live" theory.

-Firstly, the cost involved.

Think on these lines. they have no consoles, hence meaning they have no form of starting income. this is a mojor drawback as the games themselves will end up being very expensive.

-Secondly the insane cost of servers. Servers arnt cheap, let alone decent ones.

I'm sceptical about the performance they claime. On top of that, the whole process hinges on server speed, so an exess of players can leave you laggy

yes u can, they said tht they r counting on latency if u want hd ull have 2 have 5mps but it can go as low as 4mbps for sd 1.5mbps it adjusts 2 1mbp it adjusts 2 ur speed i barly understand it so explaning it is evn hardr. on another note during GDC when he said for SD u need 1.5 mbp he said it wuld hav wii lik resalution wtf does he mean wii graphics? i thoght standerd defanition meant like an older tv if that so why did he evn mention the wii? i dont wana play bioshock with wii graphics!

I personally don't think it's going to work but i might be wrong yet you are acting like you know for sure it's going to work There are so many things to consider market segmenation, (not every gamer has a broadband connection many gamers want to own physical media) tons of technical issues, how much it's going to cost etc. even if it does work doesn't mean it's going to be succesful.

Theres a lot of flaws with what you are saying, instant gaming anywhere? internet isnt everywhere. 400 for a 360? more like 200, and you dont know how much onlive is going to be, not to mention over a certain amount of time you will have payed more than 200 for onlive than a 360.
