  • The lyrics on the tax payer being ripped-off (subliminal) retrospective and now up-to-date is spot on. As always...

  • Love the little 'Rhyl' sign. :)

  • What does that mean? I've always wanted to know.

  • Rhyl?

It's a tiny seaside resort in North Wales, very popular with the working classes of the North of England. Bit of a running joke, with it being placed when he sings "where's the land of hope but not quite?" as there are probably a million sob stories in Rhyl at any given of someone who 'could/should/would have been...'

i love Rhyl, I've been going since practically birth, and it has taken a lot of stick over the years, and I think that's what the point of the sign was. Hope that helps lol

  • He looks a little like Robbie Williams (of Dead poets society) IMHO...

  • I don't know why they never did that Dave joke before.

  • Nice video. It's a shame this was never shown on TV- but then, since music videos are aimed at kiddies you can see why.

  • Well said!

  • I always loved the song, but never saw the video. It's brilliant; just like Paul is. Love his new album...

  • another great beauitful south tune i havn't got a clue why it didn't do better in the charts then it did

  • It didn't do better in the charts, because like all TBS records after 2000, it was criminally ignored by the playlisters at Radio 1.

  • The second graphic that goes along with "Bono or Sting" makes Paul look just like Rod Stewart, imo.

  • 'When you call me a useless Druggie least you get half it right' i needed to hear this tonight, i now really belive i fate after clicking on this one by mistake when i really needed a chuckle........................

  • gaze is one of my favoruite albums of theirs.

  • i love this album GAZE, this is one of my fav songs :)

  • Once again a lyrical master class from this quality outfit.

  • i love this song & paul, wish beautiful south would reform. can't wait for paul's new album.

  • That's because it's a brilliant single that nobody bought. While not their worst charting single, it only reached no. 30 in the UK charts.

  • this certainly didnt get played much when it was released!
