@djay00009 al-Khwarizmi improved upon algebra. Then others improved upon that. Stuff like this was a collaborative effort, no one people made every single aspect of it.
Also the Arabs were the ones that brought it to the Europeans, since most of history seems to be written from a European point of view, I could understand the confusion. Also the Muslims, along with the Christians and other groups helped preserve all the ancient writings from the Greeks, Romans ect.

I suggest that you look into Ibn Kathir's Tafseer of Al-Quran.
