@thezerocool22 On the extention tube I have (for olympus SP550 UZ 52mm) the thread is a slightly smaller diameter than the outer diameter of the tube. So this butts against the adaptor rings smoothly Is that what you are after?
Gosh there are many out there now but I would go for a Sony with night shot plus (Low Lox camera). Choose a light weight one using either a HDD or a memory card (they are lighter!). MAKE SURE IT HAS A THREADED SECTION AT THE LENSE FOR CAMERA RINGS!!!!!!!! You will have to go look for yourself I am afraid!
In readyness for fitting the camera I actually fitted the scope forward by 1.5 inches to how I would normally have it. So my head is back but only by 2 inches. I aim by viewing through the eye piece.
Easy way - two pieces of card one 'L' shaped, sandwich the scope where you need the diameter and hold the paper tight, measure between the edges of the card.
The vid camera diameter, It needs to have a threaded section at the front lense area. Just take it if unsure of the size to a camera shop.
IR emitter? Either a high power Yukon type or for decent images get yourself an IR laser emitter (adjustable beam type) all available from Ebay or other places.
Very helpful video. Thanks ;)

how close to the scope should the cam be
TheBoofdog 8 months ago
@TheBoofdog The lenses on mine are about 1/2 inch away. You will zoom in to get the image as I show in other vids.

So I take it it won't work with this camera?

Oops I forgot the to tell you the type! Aiptek 720p HD camera, the one that is blue with a lense that's angled up.

My stock is too close to the scopes and wont allow me to screw the camera round, unlucky me :(

big thanks for the advice! :)
Best get fleabaying for something.
Do you find that generally the size of the thread is a few MM larger than the aperture of the tube?

Very interesed in your posts on here carbonrocket.
Im struggling with finding a suitable "long olympus type tube" to fit a 42mm bell housing on the scope.
Any idea what I should be looking for?
Could you detail the model of your olympus tube so I can look for a similar version with a smaller apeture.
thanks

@thezerocool22 Hi,
53mm camera tube search in Ebay will find you something. You can get 47mm tubes but are more expensive.
I have sent yoiu a PM as crap tube wont allow links in the comments.
Good luck
